I would say PR stunt, if the same hadn't happened to a corp member earlier this year, only he got 24bil, or something like that He was relativley new as well at the time so he was over the moon (in his own way). |

well if by "recent press" you mean the latest sore loser raging and whining at them without any evidence of anything....
nah. doesn't seem like there would reasonably be any correlation at all.

Casino Sustainable Generous
if its ACTUALLY sustainable, and its ACTUALLY legit, it can be profitable to be generous.
if you make a million bucks a year for scratching your ass for an hour two days a week, you can afford to give a 20 to every bum you see. particularly if doing so will somehow make it so you can get even more money and/or have to work even less for it.
Tiberius Sunstealer wrote:It does when the timing is only a few days after a claim that could've ruined SOMER Blink (if we had concrete evidence). and the fact that this evidence-less claim happens to be right before a major event for Blink is totally coincidental?
if the claim is legit, why is there NOT evidence?

And if you win then there is value to what you won. Given that ISK has real world value then you owe taxes on your winnings.
I don't see any license information on the site, is Somer Blink registered to operate in the US? Do they pay taxes on their "profits"?
If they don't and CCP is well aware that they use their game as a forum for online gambling....
Who am I kidding, I just hate having to block some new shuckster each day. Not like anyone is calling the feds over $600k US in online gambling transactions. the fact that its entirely performed in "spacebucks", and cannot be legitimately converted into real world money, realistically would almost certainly protect them.
now if they regularly made it so you could functionally translate plex into real world items or salable value, then there might be more of an issue.
the fact is that as far as taxability goes, there likely are not laws for such gains in a virtual world. and the lack of liquidity, makes it pretty darn unlikely to be an issue.
I still don't get why people find it so hard to believe that there are occasionally winners in blink.

You're being paranoid.
Did you took your pills lately?
I'll never show my personal SB logs and nobody has to believe it but all I can say is that my SB account gave me hella fun, ships and hella isk. Some times I can loose everything and then sometimes win huge juicy isk'ish stufz, and they always honour everything.
Some folks are just paranoid, jealous, lobbing or whatever crap but they miserably fail in all points.

That's fine, there was no real evidence to substantiate that claims made and probably won't be, but as we know, it's all about perception and there are plenty of people spreading rumours based on the EN24 article that got splashed across the front page recently, and despite there being a retort from Somer Blink people will still have some doubts about the validity.
You don't need proof in some cases, just start the rumour and people will do the rest for you. This could be a touch of damage control or it could be genuine, I don't know, just seems a little convenient that it comes so soon after the damage caused by the press. Just because it's rigged doesn't mean that there aren't any winners. They just make sure the house always wins in the end.
