Hello. What exactly is an API Key? I guess my biggest question is.. Why are you leaving? I am just getting started and it seems like a worthwhile "distraction". Care to shed some light on what seems like a Major Decision? Oh and by all means, Please add me to your list. Not to sure if I made it under the wire however.
Thank you.

For those that are up to speed . . . I have received over 150 mails with Limited API keys however I ran out of isk / assets after the 70th person (50 mill per account) my 3.5 billion went fast.
Now the good news . . . A very close friend of mine (who will stay anonymous) is tired of RMTing / EVE and is also leaving game. Instead of following in his predecessors footsteps and destabilizing veldspar markets for lulz(spring 2009 gallente highsec, lul good times) I have convinced him to give his 500+ billion away.
So same thing as before, Send Hieronomus your Limited API key / ID with Stuffz(TM) as the title of the mail. Once your API has been checked to make sure that we are only giving 50 mill to one account, you will receive said isk from an alt called True Name.
My close friend Dis Ndat will be helping me check the APIs so please be thoughtful and give him a million or something to compensate him for his time (for those cynics out there, he doesn't want RMT isk, morals or something lulZ).
Enjoy Hiero,
P.S. In reference to the first batch of ppl who forgot to copy and paste their ID along with their Limited API key resubmit your mail and put "Stuffz(TM) fixed" in the title, you will go to the top of the list.

One of the things that is getting fixed is the ability to remove/close the incusion chat window?
Don't enforce chat windows, not being able to close local is bad enough.

Originally by: Farrah Contractor Personally I hope that they re-balance the incursions a little.
Currently, on one incursion in Algingtal Constellation, player ship losses are in excess of 3300 ships. That is just one constellation. There are six other incursions active.
I've been actively fighting for twelve hours and the hundred of players, losing thousands of ships could not get below 47% Sansha Influence. People are tired and disbanding fleets (Or running out of ships to Leeroy!), and so the influence was back up to 54% when I logged. This is the full might of the player base. Where's the progress?
My personal losses on day 1 were a Navy Mega, Vaga, Firetail and Ishkur.... No big deal for me personally, but my 180K EHP Navy Mega (Trimarked & LG Slave Clone boosted) melted in less than 20 seconds despite logistics in fleet, and that's annoying..
I've seen a Kronos, Navy Apoc and 80% of the supporting 12 person fleet get vaped trying to do a Vanguard site (supposedly at the easier end of the spectrum, for 5-10 people) ... That's a lot of ISK hurting.
The successful fleet I was invovled with was running 5 Logistics out of 20 ships (seriously, you need that many??), and we still lost a ship to too much DPS and insufficient buffer tank.
Added to which, we got shafted on ISK and LP because people came and ghosted through the site in noncombat ships, increasing effective fleet size. (Even though they weren't on overview when we completed the objective, they still must've gotten counted somehow!)
Right now the esprit de corps is high - it's first day and the determination amongst the player base to complete the objective is high. But, we cannot sustain these ship losses forever, and it's not going to be any fun in the long term.
Seriously, WTF CCP?? I hope you're re-balancing the Incursion difficulty in this patch.
Good post!
Indeed, when even a 180K EHP tanked ship, with logistics on it, can't cut it any more, then it's time to rethink a few things.
Actually, I could live with the difficulty staying as high as it is, so long as CCP offers more in the way of fleeting up safely. Yes, there's that carebear word again, 'safely;' but I'm simply not gonna fleet up with strangers until the RR thingy is fixed, because there's always some mentally twelve-year-old jerk who thinks it's fun to get others Concorded.
CCP, if you want to force people to band together (and you went about it in a pretty transparent manner, btw), then you need to offer them a better way of doing so. And no, the Incursions themselves aren't incentive enough: after a few days, when the novelty wears off, or after too many losses, people will simply start docking up (or possibly leave the game). Surely that's not what you had in mind. --

Patch were very dissatisfied. Having lost several ships to the gate, just jumping over the system, collected a fleet of 20 pilots who have spent a few hours and went through several complexes, but again they are updated in the system, the percentage of capture in the system changed to 97%, but 30 minutes later he again became a 100% so what's the meaning of this whole undertaking?! Do you need that would be 50 pilots 24 hours have passed, these complexes, and if they leave for a few hours, it again becomes 100%. It is a stupid and pointless idea, and who several times has tried to do it, he lost interest and simply flew away to other systems.

Edited by: Sinostora on 26/01/2011 09:07:51 I hope you adressed this awful market-lag in jita. Setting a buy-order with the highest price, pressing "okay" and *then* suddenly seeing that someone else entered a higher price a minute ago and it did not show up in your client is just extremely frustrating.

I think you're confusing Darwinism with jealousy. Most self-proclaimed pirates going off on how easy carebears have it, thus really only profess their own inadequacy at PvP (and the jealousy derived from having a harder time making cash). In fact, all the grand-standing despite, almost all PvpP-ers I know do PvE on the side, to make iskies to fund their dastardly deeds -- whille in public looking down on PvE, of course.
Oh, and you do realize, don't you, that without carebears mining the ores, ere long your shiny ship is going to cost you 10x as much, right? If there's still folks around to build it for you, that is. Really, so often PvP-ers are like six-graders you have to explain that you can't have a viable economy based on just looting and pillaging. --

Cache-Clearing does not work properly. Everytime the client restarts it produces an error message stating that it cannot clear the cache because there's already in instance of EVE-Online running which i would have to quit first. Only solution to get into the game again is to log off from Windows and to log on again and restart the EVE client.

I have a similar issue but it isnt eve related. Its not EVE which causes your problem its windows, sometimes it locks up folders from being edited or deleted.
One issue i have when the client shuts down is, that i can see the previous screen. My cap, ship, overview .. everything along with my login fields which i cant use.

Not many people look down on PVE but on carebearing.

That may be true, but oddly enough this strange behaviour of the EVE client began after the last patch. When i had redone my character after the patch before, i also had to clear the cache to get the right portrait into EVE, which caused no problems at that time.
Edit: Btw - this problem with its error message is something i can reproduce - it happened yesterday evening and also this morning when Windows was freshly started so i don't think it has something to do with Windows in this case.

1st: EVE is a dark an harsh world.
2nd: Incursion difficulty
We have done several Incursions with a well prepared Fleet yesterday, we have got no single loss, despite of a bench of drones that got shot at, and none of our ships was ever endangered to get destroeyed. So if you fly in these sites and die, you are not well prepared. Incursions are ment to be High end, all of you that lost ships yesterday, have you ever faced a tougher sleeper site, have you ever tested Incursions on sisi to see what you'll face up too?
I would say: no you have not. Get prepared and face the Sansha as it is ment to be done. Learn something about fleet tactics, learn something aboutt game mechanics, or simply stay in LVL 4 Missions and enjoy the boredom.
@ CCP don't you dare make this stuff easier as it is, otherwise it would become very very boring. This region is liquid manure, but it is OUR liquid manure. |
