While I agree to some degree that this game is intended to be more challenging than others and retain a higher level of intelligence than mainstream mmos, I don't agree with the idea of forcing players into combat situations where new players simply won't be ready for them.
As for carebears..... I see nothing wrong with a player who enjoys market trading or activities involving non-combat orientated gameplay. The game is afterall capitalistic and I think people are too hard on what carebears are about. There is simply too much at stake for players with no combat skills or experience. I don't consider it a great update when it forces your players to lose what they spent the last 7 months of gameplay trying to earn. A hulk isn't cheap and for a player to earn his first one, is a milestone - Tell me its fair that CCP releases an update that could and probably has, caused a 7 month old account to lose a 200mil hulk. Not cool. And people wonder why there are macro miners.

Added to which, we got shafted on ISK and LP because people came and ghosted through the site in noncombat ships, increasing effective fleet size. (Even though they weren't on overview when we completed the objective, they still must've gotten counted somehow!)
Right now the esprit de corps is high - it's first day and the determination amongst the player base to complete the objective is high. But, we cannot sustain these ship losses forever, and it's not going to be any fun in the long term.
Seriously, WTF CCP?? I hope you're re-balancing the Incursion difficulty in this patch.
if CCP want to make it hard like or similar to pvp levels then 5 logis aren't that "so much" so balance should be correct.... if CCP want to make it easier then PVP then it's too hard...
i say dont make it so easy

Hey finally another good expansion CCP ! First one to mention since Apocrypha. A many great lulz i had these days and even lost a phoon to pesky sanshas. U got my attention again.
GL fixing stuff, keep it hardcore, heck even make those Incursions having serious long term impact on whole Regions if they dont get repelled.

Incursion is great!!! Idon't think that anybody will leave this game because of this patch. This patch brights this game to more colours. So PVP and PVE pilots still can have fun. And they will have same interest or even more interest to this game. I think that NEW pilots will be interesting of this game more with this new patch. It's like another side of EVE - darkside. GREAT!!! 
P.S. Sorry about my language if something wrong. I'm UA player.
P.P.S. Fix that bug or what ever it is... with drone window (i can't control my drones because there is no drone status window anymore) Controlling drones in this "no window" style takes more time and problems.

I know all the players who are old and powerful and able to for great well prepared fleets, course your gonna say everythings peachy.
My fundamental problem is incursion is suppose to be a cross age content. AND it was advertised as a new player generating device.
I have no problem with the higher more rewarding sites being uber difficult but there needs to be more accessible content for younger players if this is suppose to be content for everyone. Im surprised no one mentioned that. the 3-5 player sites are always all but cleared. and vanguard site sent our fleet packing in under 30 seconds. It was a fleet from our corp but other than our leader and a few others 5-6 of the ships were 3 month or less characters.
Like im saying you dont need to have a bipolar reaction to this. There isnt one end of the spectrum or the other. more content needs to be hashed out so theres a broad range of content. content that can be completed by younger players and content that will tax the skills of the older players.
Did i expect to go out there and pop sansha capital ships.... hell no. Did i expect to be able to go out there and do my part without losing a bc in 20 seconds...yes.
Another thing I cant say for certain as im not a fiction expert but my boss was mentioning the sansha forces were doing very un sansha things.
Whats the point of creating backstory fiction to build up a race for deployment to then change all their rules so that they kick everyones ass.
just my 2 cents.
Discuss. Rather than just say its suppose to be difficult think about players who arnt flying every t2 and faction ship in the game.

The problem seems to be an issue with the font size swapping required to render text when switching between or initializing chat windows. You'll have to do this every time you switch chat tabs in a grouped window. I feel it's a minor annoyance. But it would be nice to see it fixed.

I had no problems moving out of tha Incursion constellation and continuing my sandbox. I had no problems cruising and inspecting Incursion systems in a rookie ship, there were so many pretty wrecks too! If you snooze, you loose.

Yea it would really suck to be a 2 week old player going "oh cool, incursions are finally here, lets go check it out!" only to warp into an incursion site and get that thrasher youve been working hard for instapopped. Maybe a warning for the newer players instead of just a pop up box with a nice little background story before the eventual beating they will undergo?
And for the record, carebears arent really affected by the incursions. I for one dont really mind them and have gone back to my regular missioning routine. Although i may go back to a site just to chill amongst a sea of fellow players trying to take a site down.
From what i've heard, watching a group of 60+ ships getting owned in a matter of a few seconds is quite the sight to behold...lol.

My personal rewards so far have been 3 x Assault sites and 1xVanguard.. Approx 60M in Concord payouts. Yay! Loyalty points are only payed out on successfully defeating the incursion, and right now it's looking unlikely.
Right now the incursion in Altingal is dead. Nobody is fighting because it's slow time and everyone has been up for 24+ hours trying to make headway. The incursion effectivenss is already back up at 100%, so we all might as well not have bothered for the last 24 hours.
With the paucity of bounties, no salvage or loot drops - and uncertain LP payout - there is no equal, or even proportionate, reward at present.
(Well unless you're making T2 ships, especially Guardians. They're in high demand suddenly and prices will sky-rocket)
