So?
What is there for a Solo Player to do in Incursions? Nothing?

Correct, it is meant for groups and more pvp orintated rather than mission pve style play

Yes. Nothing. It's a true group PVE feature that is supposed to bring people together. If you want to go solo you can enjoy missions, cosmos, epic arcs, exploration, wormholes (up to c2 I guess). So in my opinion it's ok that there's nothing for solo players, time for group action.
In the incursion chatrooms you'll find others to do the sites. But unfortunately they're too hard for a pick up group and there's the issue with people smartbombing others... and thus people who RR him die to Concord too. So if you don't have a corp with people you trust, better wait until they fix that issue.

Ahh.
Well I hope you all have fun with your new content. Maybe I'll get lucky next expansion and CCP will make content for my playstyle.
Thanks!

I just went to Incursion staging area to try it out. Tried all the different sites there were 3. All sites had about 10 people in them, no enemy and weren't completing. don't know how or why they weren't. went to belts to maybe see if there were some sansha there to see how tough they were. all belts were camped by about 10 people as well. overall a pretty big disappointment to me so i just left.

This is supposed to be a multiplayer game after all...hence the second "M" in "MMO".
Not saying you can't play by yourself, but you should expect most things to be geared towards groups and not individuals. ---------------- A million faces, each a million lies |

Multi-player =\= team play.

Wait a few days until the novelty wears off. People with small fleets will be able to handle the vanguard systems, with any luck leaving the staging systems for solo players.

All previous content other than level 5 missions, C4+ wormholes and hi end explo plexes have been designed for your playstyle

That's a good point, but the whole RP point of the incursions is for capsuleers to band together to fight off the invasions.

There's nothing wrong with your playstyle, and even EVE allows for solo play. But Incursions content isn't it, not being geared towards solo play. From what I've seen of the screenshots, there are a lot of targets in there, many more than you could hope to deal with by yourself. The red blips on your radar will blot out the sun. For this you'll have to team up with some friends, outside of your corp if necessary. Or skip it.
On the upside, CCP added a whole slew of new storyline missions to keep you busy while others run incursions, if that's your cup of tea.

Why do people expect that every extensions, in every game, should be somewhat centered around their playstyle.
Inb4 the incarna whines "waaaa waaaaa I can't kill people in stations waaaaa waaaa there is nothing to mine bot either"

Just to play devil's advocate I'd like to point out that if you're skilled, or have good software support, you could possibly multi-box some of this content. I don't know how likely it'd be or if it'd be worth the hassle, but it ought to be within the realm of possibility.

Edited by: NiiKleagh on 26/01/2011 05:15:18 I, and my mates, are involved in some of the higher-end pvp out in null sec, and after using an alt to do my first incursion I told them what I thought of the feature - and they agreed.
We believe that there may not be any better way for very new players, and players who have not worked with corps and fleets for varying reasons, to get used to nearly everything about the fleet feature, voice comms, and flying organized (all three of which are huge components of large-scale fun out in 0.0), than the incursions.
It was on-the-spot training, as needed (and it was needed), for a lot of the guys I was working with in the ad-hoc gang that we formed (we had nearly 50 people in it). Everything from teaching people how to use Eve voice comms to how easy it is to convince them to warp in, and out for a break, with the group when they are seeing T2 BS's and BC's getting blown up by Sansha.
Now is it something I want to do much more of? No. Between the training (which I've already done too much of in Eve), and the time-sink when I could either be killing people in null-sec or making ISK for myself, I don't want to go back to it.
But for the inexperienced, and for the experienced who are looking for something different - and those who want to form corps around something other than mining, pvp or WH's - it's a good thing.
Anyway, getting back to the original question... as long as it is new and gangs (fleets) of strangers are being made on the spot, I think there sort of is a place for solo guys to fit in for the length of the incursion, then jump back out and be solo. The only problem is that you will either need reps, or have to give reps, to get the whole thing done.... you're gonna have to work with somebody.

Go in sites in cheapo boats and loot/salvage expensive player wrecks. Soloers get the most profitable part of Incursions.

Ain't that the truth, I've been talking to some of the guys today that were doing that. (because they started looting the site we were clearing)
And they were pulling in Billions worth of faction loot.

Level 5 missions are pretty soloable too.

Theres a HUGE amount you can do in Incursion as a solo player.
Its just not PvE.
The PvE is group content. Join a group using the fleetfinders.
But as a solo player you can still - get large groups of other players killed through aggro management, loot theif, ninja salvage, scam, etc.
