since avatars seem to be more exciting to most people here, could ccp make a separate forum section?
I come to GD to read general posts, like changed game mechanics, problems, ragequits etc.
Instead i have to go through four pages of silly avatar posts which have so little to do with the game.
Or i could just wait a couple years for the new avatar hype to die down.

I agree, an avatar subforum would be awesome. Perhaps a thumbs up and down rating on peoples profiles to see how many people enjoy their avatar as well. That would lessen the amount of "Look how pretty i am" feedback threads.
Btw, thats alot of eyeliner

but in all serialness, looking at all the other posts complaining about this, i would think something should be done.
I dread wis. Everyone and their dog will clutter up GD with their full body multiple angle avatars.
Perhaps i should just take a break from the forums.

That is a bit of an overkill in my opinion. It is currently a new feature, so naturally people are talking about it. There might be a need to add a vanity forum section though as more of these features get added to the game. Somewhere where you can just show off your in-game creations, share thought about them and talk generally about vanity only items/services.
There seems to be a dedicated team in CCP to handle making these kind of vanity features and products, so it might be easier for them too to have all the discussion and feedback on the subject concentrated mostly in a single forum section.

well the new forums better have a 'vanity fair' section for all that sheat including furniture and char customization

Quoted for posterity. I think CCP have said that you will be able to decorate corp offices and such. So I think we can assume it's coming. However, like everything else, who knows when.
