I tried installing the latest patch today, it failed, when I run the repair tool I get this error:

I'll try manually downloading the patch again, then I'll try downloading the entire client again.

D/L ver 1.1.2 patch 'failed' at the end point and said to run repair: repair then throws this out

Guys I just deleted the Common.ini file from the Eve folder and the repair tool is now running...

Hey! Great fix! deleting common.ini also worked for me. The repair tool then rebuilds the checksums, then the repair continues correctly.

Deleting the common.ini file worked here too.
I thought the update kept failing for me, as I'm at an internet cafe. Seems not!
My question is, why? is this happening?

same problem... some sort of bug with the patch? deleting the common.ini worked to fix the repairer tho and its now repairing.

where do you go EXACTLY to find the common.ini file? I was unable to locate it.

Remember you can always grab manual patches from http://www.eveonline.com/patches/patches.asp?s=&test=&system=win though, rather than having to **** with your common.ini and use the repair tool (which takes a lot longer than doing the manual patch).
But yeah. The autopatch fails for me, too. >:

working now with the common.ini deleted.
+1 for the finding of the workaround
-1 for ccp that I have to do that in an automated update process
