Jeez, you'd think people have already forgotten there was a time when it was bad form to log off in jita.

Anything that breaks Jita as THE trade center will only cause the problem to move elsewhere.
Trade attracts more trade. As long as the 4 Empires have open borders through secure space, traders will always be drawn to one central hub.
This is the best idea I have seen so far. It actually doesn't make sense, even from an RP standpoint, that Amarr players can fly into Gallente space in relative safety. The 4 empires shouldn't be connected via high-sec systems. Current empire space is smushed way too close together.
I wouldn't mind if CCP made a patch where they redrew the map a little bit, expand the territory of each empire (increase number of high-sec systems), but fill the space between them with low-sec systems. Spread it out a little.
I think then, we would see 4 trade hubs instead of one, and hopefully fewer people at each. Having 4 different distinct hubs might actually make traders happy, more high-sec should make carebears happy, and more low-sec should make pirates happy.
Something i've been wanting a long time to happen, nerf highways please
Yes please! Empire should be individual pockets of hisec in a sea of losec in an ocean of nulsec
You're waiting for an ibis, an ibis that will take you far away. You know where you hope this ibis will take you, but you can't be sure. But it doesn't matter - because we'll be together. |

There is simply solution for that. CCP make popular trade routes like Jita <-> Rens Jita <-> Amarr Jita <-> Dodixie Jita <-> any other accessible only through low sec. This will force traders to spread up more and make hauling stuff more profitable ( market prices on local hubs will vary more ). Increasing Jita cap won't solve the problem. If you set cap at 2500 ppl then 2500 or more will be causing lag.
Second, pirates and outlaws will have an oportunity to camp thease passages. So everyone wins this way. No lag in Jita, more trade oportunities, more fun to pirates.

If only this could happen. It would help the ******ed 0.01 ISK games too.
For an internet spaceships game, this sure has a strange way of showing it. Jita special eh? I really wish they'd do something about it being spreadsheets in space.

Jita is not the problem. As Durnin Stormbrow said above, 'trade attracts trade'. Making Jita less attractive will serve only to move the main hub elsewhere within a few days.
From an RP perspective, I actually quite like the idea of surrounding the empires with low sec space, although it would have to be done properly to avoid bottlenecks that will quickly be filled with mindless gate gankers.
I think the most practical solution would be to increase the time between market order updates.
Edit- To the above poster: What makes you think this will solve the 0.01 isk game?

I always thought the idea that security in systems being static was stupid, it should be dynamic or player-influenced. |

Welcome to Jita. What exactly is the point of increasing the player cap to 1800 if you cant do anything?
Its all the 0.01 price adjusting bots..... ...... continues overleaf. |
