I think all they need to do is occasionaly play with NPC demand and supply in an area to iron out over the top price problems. Granted this will never fix the Trade channel buying and selling where BYOM+1million will always likely live and thrive.

To be honest I don't see a big deal with things selling at stupidly low prices, mainly because the supply is insane and the demand is just plain silly...

A good corp might might able to stick every member in a cruiser in a few weeks once they get the BP... so few corp players will have any interest in buying cruisers on the market unless they want to try something different.

Since demand is so insanely low prices are crap, the bad thing is, this isn't likely to change without some sort of stumulous.

Either players will need to stop making so many cruisers. Or NPC's need to start creating some demand to make competition possible.

Honestly the other part of the problem comes from players who will do ANYTHING to make a sale, even obliterate thier own profit on an item.

Like those people who early on started selling ships for mineral prices even on the Market.

Or people trying to underbid one another till they sold items for less than mineral value...

I don't care how common an item is, if your putting up ANY item on the market for 10 ISK or less except for some ammo types, your a noob or a fool or both...

what will eventually happen is, people will simply stop making things to sell, and thus over time a demand will be reintroduced into the economy as ships are destroyed, BP's fudged, and wars take place.

the economy SHOULD have not only ups and downs as a whole, but on various markets.

some people are simply not thinking diversly enough if they beleive the price of a ship is the norm, or the only way to judge the economy.

so what if you are finding it hard to compete with corps that sell ships at BYOM + 1 million.

The REAL problem is the player produced goods other than ships, are less potent than NPC loot ones, and that is NEVER acceptable in a game like this...

We need real reasearching to be introduced, we need reverse engineering... and we NEED NPC demand for the more common items.

Sure I know a store bought 125MM rail isn't as good as a 125MM carbide rail, but since we can't make or sell 125 carbides on the market itself, strange things are happening.

In essance those basic standard models should have some NPC demand to make up for the lack opf player demand. It's nearly impossible to compete for example with a guy who owns 20 125MM hybrids he looted and then sells em for 2K each... yet to make one costs you possibly 3K.

since you CANNOT build better your frelled... you either go out and loot em yourself and sell on the trade channel or you rightfully demand that the silly Market get expanded to allow for loot weapons to be sold and researching to come into play.
