(those two you should have high regardless of what ship you're flying)
because this ship is slower and well different from your kestrel, you'll need to change the way you're using your ship as well.caracal is great for spamming heavy missiles from far away. and that's really the key, distance, keep your distance to your targets and you'll have enough time to react, plus with decent skills you can stay out of most NPC's range. i used to use a caracal for mission running, and i had little to no problem doing level 3 missions with it.
it's been a while, but i think my layout was something like this:
high:
4- heavy launchers (preferrably named) w/ 1 thunderbolts and 3 scourge 1- assault launcher (again pref named) with defenders
mid:
1- 10mn AB II 1- Medium Shield Booster II 1- Medium Shield Extender II 1- Cap Recharger II
Low: something like 2- PDS's or
1- ballistic control unit 1- overdrive i don't really recall, really depends on your skills you may need RCU's or CPU's to fit high and mid slots. note i'm using an AB and not a MWD, it's slower but i don't like the shield HP, and capacitor capacity hit you take with mwd.
if i were to fly a caracal now, i'd probably change the set-up a bit, make highs all heavy launchers, mids take out the recharger and extender and swap for 2 active hardners (depending on rats) and put PDS's in the lows...
you'll have to play around a bit and see what works best for you, main thing to remember, caldari (and that's especially true for the caracal) are missile spamming shieldtankers (for the most part) and always, ALWAYS insure your ship.
hope this helped more than it confused :) ------------------------------------------------
