What is interesting for me about that article is the way the research describes the WoW instances as a "logic puzzle". I can see that her description is also true for EVE PvE. PvE is a logic puzzle: once you've cracked it it's easy.
Which is why PvP is mind-bogglingly more complex and challenging. Nothing logical about going up against other humans.

Good Lord, really? Did they really compare WoW raiding to the Tour de France? This poor reporter must have been hurting for a story to cobble together this crap. Last I checked, doing extreme sports (or sports in general) actually does something beneficial for you in RL, and certain sports can actually be dangerous. Not "OMG we just wiped now I have to walk a little!11!!" dangerous, but actually physically demanding.
And it's not like WoW is really that absurdly difficult. It's been a while since I played, but from what I've been reading on other forums, some people are already smacking around the high level content in Cata. Yup, tough stuff there  .

I knew there was a reason I left that game...
PvE in WoW is stupid easy. It's just a matter of "Grind these heroics 'til you have these gear pieces, then grind the same raid every week non-stop until you can do the heroic version of it." It's mind number after so many years and there's ZERO innovation.
EVE PvE is easy when you figure it out and have the skills or equipment. But at least it looks pretty.
