Edited by: Theia Nine on 02/02/2011 23:53:52 Hello All.
Does any of you have a working setup for doing Sanctums in an Ishtar? (a fitting you've actually tried).
Best Regards.
Theia
NB: No 1B fits please :P

Edited by: Cpl Punnishment on 03/02/2011 09:29:45 Good choice of ship btw. I find that armor ishtar works well and allows you to use Omni Tracking links and fitting flexibility all with simple T2 fittings.
Lows= 2 primary / 1 secondary hardners, T2 MAR, Cap Power Relay
Mids= 2 Omni Directional Tracking Links, 2 Cap Rechargers, Meta 4 AB
Highs= (to taste) suggest using [1 Remote Armor Rep Meta 4] to keep sentries happy. And what ever else you want / can fit. Its not too important.
Rigs= 2 Medium Sentry Drone Damage Augmentors
Then, drone load out. I run 2 sets of Sentries. Usually I run Garde IIs for close stuff, under 45 km or so, and a set of sentries for better range that have the right damage type. Its nice to have lights when frigs get under your sentries, as well of a set of ECM drones for unanounced company.
I warp in at range, drop sentries, kill frigs>cruisers>then BS. Tank is hardly an issue. Most of the time you don't even need to move. If you start to take more damage, just orbit one of your sentries at about 3K and that should take the heat off you. YOu can run everything cap stable, except the Remote Rep. (use as needed) As you can see, nothing crazy, all T2 or Meta 4, A consistant PVE machine that does not need gobs of ammo. Also sentries keep on shooting even if you get damped and loose lock.
Good luck.
C.P.

Rat in the ishtar don't take a sanctum from your carrier pilots or bs pilots you do them way way too slow and if you insist on doing anomes stay in hubs and havens.

duh.
Lets just say this if your not making 20-30 mill/20min solo in a sanctum dont mess with it unless you are the only person in your system that want to do the anoms. also if you are a salvage kill everything then bm a wreck and come back a few minutes later. if you salvage in the anom before the stuffs disappear you are holding up the next anom from spawning and potentially ****ing everyone off.

If you're talking guristas sanctums then it's simple sentry rigs + 2 omnilinks, target painter and cap regeneration to permarun AB + MAR Drop gardes and orbit them, profit Just paint and kill small things first, battleships barely do any damage

The Armor reps are about 15m each. Having the AB drops your incoming dmg by half and allows you to tank an 8/10 Plex if you happen to scan one.
Cap stable with AB on.

It's actually a bit too much tank at 1334 dps vs Guristas. A corpmate recommended using DNC mods in the mids, as the thing which takes the most time running the plexes (and being in harm's way) is the time it takes heavy drones to move from target to target.
So, this costs a bit more but provides your heavy drones with 50% more MWD speed (1800 m/s vs 1200):

Shield setups look good on paper - and with the right setup you can make it completely passive to do any plex which involves a lot of neuting but they have three issues:
1) LSE's ballon your sig radius so you take more dmg from BS's. 2) Most setups require one or both rig slots to have shield mods so you loose a lot of sentry damage which means less isk/hour. 3) Most setups don't leave room for an AB which would half the BS damage you take.
So an AB armor fit which tanks 600dps in EFT is actually better (by some margin) than a shield fit tanking 1k+ EFT dps. The only time you need to go shield is if you need a completely passive tank to defeat neuting situations.

vs Guristas Ishtar passive shield fit can go 1500dps+ tank using only tech 2. Gila tops out at 1050dps tanked.
The ratio is about the same vs Serpentis.

48,045 EHP 636 DPS Guristas tank 538 DPS using Garde IIs Cap stable with the repper on. If you orbit a drone, damage received is insignificant. This is a skill intensive fit, but uses no ammo and pulls in 12-15 million/20 mins doing sanctums.
The 4th Omni is arguably something that could be swapped for something useful like a Target Painter, but we use it for the increased tracking to take out small stuff that spawns close to us in the sanctum and hence the Fed Navy Garde's. Try the fit with standard Omni's and test before you shell out for faction one's.
This fit solo's all plex's save 10/10s, for which you tank differently using the same rigs and a logi.

Pretty much the maximum efficiency you'll get from this ship. All T1/T2 fit, speed tank, cap stable, with 667 tank. Drop your sentries and orbit. Use the guns to pick off frigs so your sentries can keep doing their job.

Not sure about setup though
Just be sure to realise that there is a big difference when their EFT tanks and ACTUAL PVE PLEXING tanks are compared.
shield ishtar will tank more than an armour one in EFT, but in reality the story varies. Fact of the matter is that the shield one is fine for plexes up to a certain size. Being hit by EM torpedoes sure hurts a whole lot less in an armour ishtar.. (figuratively speaking ofc) __________________________________________________

Using Level V char and taking out the AB (which halves your real world tank) to use your fit gives me 1246 dps vs guristas for Gila and 1973 for ishtar.
So the question is what dmg profile are you using for your "Guristas" tank (I'm using 86% kinetic and 14% Thermic), what implants and what fleet bonuses?
