There are plenty of places, albeit more than a few jumps off the highway, where offices can be rented for the base 10k isk price. I still have a few offices whos rents have not gone up at all.
As for the lab slots, well, welcome to capitalism. Eve is not a socialist experiment and there are no welfare coupons for lab slots. Eventually folks will figure out that they're just senselessly burning isk on them. It's hard to shake the habit of clinging desperately to lab slots which was developed. It'll happen though. Guaranteed.
A factory for 330K a week? are you crazy? sure, a LOT of lab slots might be that expensive, but there are a crapton of factories out there just a jump or two off the highway which arent even above the generic 40k. I'll buy that your labs are that much, but not the factories. If they are, I'd strongly suggest you try and find cheaper quarters.
I'm not sure what the whole deal with lab slots is anyway. Sure, researching ME is valuable and all in order to save that 10%, but it *is* just 10%. That's still within the margin of trade in almost any region for almost any commodity. Only being able to grab one lab slot or two isnt a back breaker. If someone is unable to grab any at all because it costs too much, well, then you have a choice to make. It's now a cost assessment to see how much cash you are spending vs saving by renting and doing the research. Researching cruiser blueprints to 30ME is not a requirement for use. (however, if you're trying to bust into a bpc selling deal, im sorry, but you're going to have to suck it up and realize that lab rents are your expense. it's no longer a license to print money. given some of the responses here in this thread, I don't think I'm alone in this thinking)
There are a lot of offices in the game which I think are going to get easily 10x expensive than they are now. A lot of others will get cheaper once all the turkeys trying to sell the 50 offices they have in Lonetrek figure out they're not going to make a profit. In the end, folks will eventually figure out what they do and do not need in order to play the game however they want. --- The Tarsis Shriners |
