Posted - 2011.02.04 20:07:00 - [1] So i'm wanting to start some old school gate camps but i'm wondering if it is even still viable with all the changes in the game. Are there any corps out there that sit in safe spots off the gate with 1-2 dictors, falcon, rapier/huggin type ships and then just 8-10 battleships for dps? I really miss doing this but with: Massive gates Terrible webs Everyone having a titan ready to jump bridge. Everyone having black ops ready to bridge Terrible large gun tracking I find that it might be hard to actually catch most targets and once a corp/alliance knows you're there you're very easy targets to kill. Or maybe CCP should return all losses by unfair camps. Or maybe CCP should create instances for PVPers. or maybe you could save CCP the trouble and give all your stuff and go play WOW

So, can you give me the facts that most fights doesn't happens at gates and stations? I bet you can't, because you wont find any facts that most fights doesn't happens at gates and stations. I rather sit at a gate in a fleet and actually be able to shoot everything that jumps in rather than sitting in station waiting for something to shoot.

I know they was around, because that 30+ DEMON HUNTER gang was shooting my Vindicator and Tregaron's Nightmare in Hagilur. So in this case, you could have said you had 1 guy and 6 of us would run from you. For all we could know, you could have been a bait for those 30+ DEMON HUNTER guys. It's all about thinking and be smart. And also, i don't have any problems to post my Battleclinic stats when my stats are much better than Shivalla's stats when he thinks that he's so much better than me in PVP.

If you have been in Hagilur like 20 mins ago, you would see that we just had a fight against Legion of xXDEATHXx where we was almost 2:1 outnumbered. We lost one Hyperion, one Maelstrom one Dominix one Scorpion Navy Issue and one Rattlesnake. We took it all like a man, like everyone should. For proof, look here and here. So why you find us pussies is a good question. We stayed until we had killed some of them and then we got away with the rest. I would really like to see you guys stay and fight when you are 2:1 outnumbered like we was now. EDIT: And this fight happened at the gate we are camping in Hagilur. Yep, gatecamping is not real PVP and is no risk at all .

Was a pretty damn nice fight. We killed around 20 of them while we lost 4 ships. And me alone got 17 kills from that fight. Now, show us that you can do such fights, then maybe i will take you guys more seriously.

Find a good gate preferably not a region gate as these have larger jump spheres and can mean your 30-40km from your target when it uncloaks. 2. Phobos with 1500 scan res and 2 points, this should be able to catch most things except shuttles and fast cloakers. 3. Get 2 Drakes for your imediate DPS and for extra points and 2 Hurricanes with double webs for anything burning back to the gate. Though the more the merrier. 4. Have eye's in all the surrounding systems, obviously including the one you are camping so you can se incoming targets, so you know your not being 'tarped' 5. there are more things to do for advanced gatecamps, Rapiers, Falcons, Warp oputs, dual camp spots, scanning for probes tc etc. Mail Fla5hy Red Founding Member
