You know, before Incursions I knew Incarna was coming this summer. Now we have incursions and Incarna is closer than it was before, I am left wondering what comes after Incarna. Will that be the end of expansions for all time or is CCP going to announce this at fan fest?

Honestly - we dont really know.
Incarna is such a huuuuge expansion for eve that will add a lot to what we know. The spaceship game will be the same as always ofcource, but with incarna the universe suddenly get so much larger. In my opinion I think they will build upon the incarna for a while. After all, they have build upon the spaceship part for 7-8 years and as such incarna have lots of potential for further developement.

Dust, and then WoD. And then maybe CCP might possibly think about fixing eve. (they won't, though)

Dust comes next, PI will no doubt get an overhaul at the same time.
Overall its looking good for getting that full sci-fi simulator thing, will be interesting to see how it all looks in 5 or 6 years time once it's matured. I'm betting that eve will be stronger than ever yet still dying.

Incarna is just part 1 of the 3D avatar thingy, it will only be bars and captain's quarters afaik. CCP has big plans to get a smuggling mini game in Incarna. Next to that we would like to see walking in spaceships and on planets too, to name a few.
For the rest CCP had remained quite silent.

YES that would be nice!
And as EVE is a space sim, all asymmetrical ships will end up as a ball of fire because the air resistance tears them apart and the ship becomes uncontrollable! ________________* - If you're in favour of a bloodline change please vote in the Assembly Hall in this thread - |

I think there should be a whole new ship class (call it corvette, which comes in t1, t2 and t3) specifically designed for atmospheric flight, that would serve another purpose too, that is: Everyone is asking for new ships that fulfil new roles.

After Incarna comes a long cycle of iterations, that are improvements and expansions of already existing in-game features. |

You KNOW no such thing.
Incarna is 'scheduled' for this summer, but it has been similarly proposed for many summers past and the smart money is that it will either be (much) further delayed or canceled altogether. It is, basically, a question of value added - at some point in development, every bit of added gameplay has to be looked at as to whether the effort will 'pay off'. Even at this late date, all that is being talked about is, perhaps, strolling in the corridors and plazas of a station, perhaps with a bar or some shops for diversion. None of that adds anything to the core game.
It might as well be a different game altogether, and, in fact, it will be. Any new subs gained because of such 'gameplay' will be those who were never interested in the core game anyway. It will add, at most, a different sort of the same type who only log in to spin their ships, or those who don't log in at all and 'play' the game only on the forums. TBQFH, those people don't interact with me in any way, so all in all I'd rather 'development' be geared to fixing broken stuff within the existing game.
Incarna is, simply put, only virtual cosplay. I think they have a distinct DSM IV diagnosis for that.

Or you could assume, that they are well aware of the unstable nature of tritanium in atmospheric temperatures, so they don't build ships out of a pure mineral and use alloys instead.

First I vote for Orbit-->Atmosphere-->Planetside transitioning
I'd say full ship walking, but EVE ships are the size of moons, so forget that.
Next, Dust being used not only for instanced FPS combat, but later using the engine for full roaming boundary-less planets. CCP can pregenerate a random bumpmap for every planet in eve, then toss random dungeons/instance entrances, and cities.
Then we can move PI into stage 3, player made towns/ranches/cities.. not like there won't be enough planetside space.
After that we can merge the Star Wars and Star Trek universe into EVE and begin a super sci-fi war.
After that we can move into other dimentions with new levels of gameplay I can't even imagine yet.
By that time the robots will have taken over humanity IRL, we'll all be turned into batteries, and instead of using the matrix system we'll be plugged into an EVE online matrix where we can live out the rest of our exsistance as EVE online matrix slaves.
That should cover everything. --------------

I figure there will be expansions to Incarna for at least 2 years after the initial release.
At launch we'll just be allowed to rent a single empty room. Then 6 months later an expansion will bring furniture into the game, and another 6 months later we'll finally be able to change our clothes. These expansions will have names like "Coronal mass ejection" for no clear reason.

They also have energy shields and armor capable of taking repeated blows by nuclear warheads (well... and thermal/kinetic damage, which'd cover stress and heat generated by reentry), and considerable engine power without fuel concerns.
So ships reenter as burning fireballs of doom, then hover with their ass-ends pointing towards the surface.
It's more of an issue for the planetary inhabitants rather than the ships.

Incarna was working pretty OK the last time it was demoed. It looked like it was mainly UI and stability work that needed to be done. That and figure out some sort of gameplay, which was quoted as the main reason of the long delay.

If i remember correctly, a mineral used in making all our current ships is unstable when not in the vaccuum of space, so for atmospheric flight there'd be a unique series of ships.

If you are going to scold him for not being factual, perhaps you should make an effort yourself.
No "previous summer release date" was ever announced by CCP. Ever.
Just strolling around a station or hitting a bar is to get the mechanics working smoothly. There is quite a bit more that has been conceptualized that will certainly add to "core" game play.
Many people like SciFi but have trouble getting into a game without an Avatar, despite your (somewhat silly) assertion that any new players brought in by Incarna will have no interest in the starship side of the game.
You must have missed the rather large laundry list of issues that have been fixed recently.
I'm not dissing your general opinion about Incarna, but you were making assertions that were not supported by the facts.
Edit: Quote: isn't there an atmospheric megathron at the ond of the Dust trailer? Here
Glyken, no, that is not a Megathron.
