Griznatle Caldari Heretic Army	Posted - 2011.02.06 22:55:00 - [1] Dark rising, in attempts to get past our battulship blockade, used the new grid exploit that, when pulling a cloakwarp trick, crashes clients. The logs, show nothing, sadly. Its sad that they attempted to, instead of fighting with ecm, simply forced clients down. It seems even the good old corps have fallen into feggitry, using exploits to break up fleets. If you dont know about this new works as intended feature, if the ship pulling the trick is on your overview, then you are affected. Now that my wall of text is done, simply tl;dr dark rising are figs. Although not good figs, cause a honor tackler caught a nighthawk on the other side and it died to sansha. oh, on the other hand, did you read my sig? CanihazurBumpBump?

On the other hand it could just lead to more tards using this and CCP being incompetent in balancing their game. At this present time I suppose they have enough bugs and issues with overview etc to deal with but also while they ARE focusing on these issues it might be the best time to force them to fix this 'working as intended' feature ~~~

If I remember correctly, if its been deemed an exploit by CCP, those using the exploit will be banned. Although your mileage may vary. If its a bug that has not yet been deemed an eploit, then getting the message out to as many people as possible on how it works would be a good thing for all of us so we can try to figure out how to protect ourselves against it. Or at least recognize it so when someone does it, we can then flag that person/group as people to not give pvp fun to.

How is it possible for a scimitar, according to your story bru, that ship to warp cloaked? See, you said, I quote "single Scimitar jumped first and pulled the warp-cloak", so yes, to the matter in hand. Scimitars cannot warp while cloaked. Or is this the actual exploit you are referring to, that it WAS able to warp while cloaked, and because of this, all your ships disconnected who tried to target that Scimitar? This is completely new information to me, and I am very curious how you have theorycrafted this, and know that this is actually how your clients crashed. Please enlighten me about this issue. Possible, but from my past experience with -DARK they did not seem to be that incompetent. As for the proof you requested, I will see if I can get my hands on the fraps footage that some of our fleet members produced, maybe this will help you understand why this event did come across more than just a bit fishy. Keep in mind that jumping and burning back is a valid tactic to get the enemy probably separated while a part of the fleet jumps and the rest is stucked by agression timer. If you have a FRAPS then we can discuss. Actually it sounds fishy because Dark usually enjoys fighting against numbers and we need no stupid exploit. Yes, I know it is a valid tactic to separate fleets. Though that only really works if the hostiles dont all agress at once thinking you will take the fight, or you are not facing too much damage that you have to expect losing a few logistics while burning back. From our perspective, what was anticipated was you guys wanting to leave the incursion constellation and take the fight in non cynojammed space where you could bring in the 20 odd carrier support you usually bring to these kind of 'against the numbers' fights in lowsec.

If they wanted a fight they would have followed plain and simple. Someone in the Amarr Mitlia gave all these guys the intel on what was in our fleet (being as I know the guy in the Militia who did so) and they all formed up, to what they thought would be a fight and didn't get one. You guys had three FC's on the go, and probably could not get your ** together. Emo elsewhere. There was no exploit, just what is normal in low sec pvp as said before. Jump through, burn back, try to split up enemy fleet by getting them to jump as well, leaving half you behind due to GCC. We got flew ships fitted specifically for the task save a warp disruptor which we changed out when we arrived in sosan area. Your fleet had an opportunity to engage us when we aggro'd your bait (possibly) navy scorp on the gate and you all landed on top of us. You already outnumbered us in alpha at this point and I was happy to take the fight but you deagro and bail. We could have split the fleet and tried to grab some of your dudes on the otherside but bc dont stand up long against bs fleet with no logis. We went and did an incursion and during this time you formed up a blob of some sorts in houla. It was reported as 15 bs :S We had our main covert eyes go afk just before and were now down to scouting with a cloaky loki and he was off in the other direction. I gave order to align for houla and sadly one of our dudes warped by mistake, he gets tackled on ourside and jumps through, reports local as hot and I honestly think **** it lets go. When we load in huola I notice its not '15 bs' local was at 120 when it stabilised and we had 28? something like that. BS blob around the gate and I noticed fighters assigned and thought this will be a bit too tough to chew on. In addition carrier support could not be called in on our side since the incursion site prevented it. I decided to burn us back to the gate and bail, whilst attempting to rep the alpha. We failed on two ships and got everyone else out alive. Mission accomplished! so much drama. the scimi who uncloaked first was simply because he was the plonker who jumped in by mistake. The Dark is Rising...

We always tell you GF whether its our blob or yours. It is a game. We all have the same options in the game, so instead of complaining about the fact you didn't get any killmails other than one, and that if we were in a different system we'd drop caps on you, train your ** up and get more caps. You could have possibly killed the bait if you werent all agressed on him, as we assumed he would likely die there and our main fleet body made its escape. In addition carrier support could not be called in on our side since the incursion site prevented it. I decided to burn us back to the gate and bail, whilst attempting to rep the alpha. We failed on two ships and got everyone else out alive. Mission accomplished! so much drama. the scimi who uncloaked first was simply because he was the plonker who jumped in by mistake. The fleet we formed for coming back was actually a cluster** of heretics, amarr and minmatar militia. When heading out, we had about 35-40 battleships, and a triage carrier on standby. Some people that responded late joined in in various small stuff, such as inties and destroyers. Fleet count was at 57. Intel said a good portion of your capital pilots were online, so we assumed this would end in a huge engagement with strong capital support as we had them in the past. Now I was unable to join eve voice myself as it broke down for me, and got only major commands relayed on our vent. I dont know about assigned fighters, but I severely doubt that fact as Huola is a .4 where you cannot assign fighters. We had some extremely bad intel as well, some noob scouts apparently got killed by Sanshas. Reports said your fleet was at range from gate, which apparently was incorrect. There seemed to have been some debate about our weapon range (scorch vs HML) and jumping in or not, but you guys then jumped into us. Then the first to decloak was that scimitar, and he cloaked back up which crashed a good portion of our fleet, dropped them from eve voice as well. A good bit of friendly fire on the crash victims ensued So, what lead us to assume their was some kind of masterplan behind this, was simply the fact that a inferior fleet jumped into us despite having eyes in local. And the fact that fitting cloak on a logi would serve no purpose, but come in handy if you wanted to trigger that bug. Edit: Figs

As for the description you provided, I admit it does seem that way, but you must admit that Eve is rife with bugs of this very nature. It is entirely possible that the scimitar pilot was simply jumping on error. We do have several non-lithuanians (I am celebrating our freedom with that lower case letter! Very refreshing!) in dikrising who occasionally do not understand orders given. From my perspective I find it more likely that he was one of these pilots. Could you provide the characters name? I would be very interested if it was one of the said pilots. On another issue, I must say I am pleasantly surprised that you checked back on this thread. I was afraid that my countrymen's earlier rudeness has dissuaded you from further conversation. I would like to inquire again as to the supply of ginger.
