I have been living in a C2 now for the last 2 months. I have come to understand that BOB is all powerful, and murphy lurks around every roid in the system so one has to be careful. Even with all that I have come to love living in a hole. I am in a corp that has a high sec focus and no real desire to expand its member base. So I am thinking of starting a new W-space corp. What kind of response do you guys get when you advertise a WH corp living full time in a hole? Assuming this is like every other MMORPG starting new player groups can be ......a bit tricky. |

Well if you advertise it properly and take everyone in, you can be sure someone will clear the ship hangar right after everyone has moved in. This is no MMORPG, this is eve and it is real.
Go for a middle tower and start the corp with 2-4 'friends'. Only after that start recruiting. Focus on security, background checks and forget bringing in shiny ships until you trust each other enough. |

The trust factor is a pretty massive issue. I'd have no issue joining a WH corp, however inviting people into ours is an issue. We'd love to expanded and get a few more people in our WH but I assume every single person and their alts is out to kill me and take my stuff - which has proven to be pretty accurate so far.
Personally, I'd suggest joining an established WH corp over starting a new one unless, as per the above poster, you have some friends to get started. |

At one point i was looking to create an alt and join a WH corp. Started reading the forums, found a few corps and then went to their application form. Hell, there were more questions than what i was asked at the last RL job interview :) Plus 'interview' with app manager on Skype/TS after you spoke with them in their public chat.
Now, after a few months i understand why.
Would i like to join a WH corp? Yep.
Going to all that interview thing, giving my full api key and who knows what else? Well, i guess this is what draws away some people and it is your choice how 'hard' you will make the application process.

Recruiting for WH corps is notoriously difficult due to the reasons listed above. Go for quality over quantity and manage roles very strictly. Taggart Website Taggart Blog Taggart WH Sales |

Unless your focus is to work extremely hard at just creating and running a WH-corp because you believe you have a truly unique way of doing it, I would, like many did above, look for a corp to join instead of building one for yourself. http://rnat-postmortem.blogspot.se |

Thanks everyone for the advice, I will take the issues noted above into consideration. One thing I notice in many corps, lack of consistent leadership. I play. I do so every day from 00:00 to 05:00 Eve Time itGÇÖs just my thing. I have several friends that would jump into this with me, including a fine security officer. Also understand there in no bad blood between me and my current corp or alliance, so I will get tons of support from them. I agree with open corp invites creating massive problems in the hanger. If the permissions were set up properly could you not use two hangers, one for high value corp boats and the other for un-vetted members? Looks like roles should be able to accomplish this. I really feel the need to start fresh here. There are tons of corps that are just kind of GÇ£thereGÇ¥ they have no goals, no real purpose. This is a game but I must be honest I take it damn seriously, I like to succeed. I want to gather more people who thrive on doing something as well as it can be done. |

There are more than enough access right setting for you to be able to keep your stuff out of reach of any new recruits.
If you have trusted friends who are willing to dedicate their time to helping you run the corp, you will be fine. If not, join and established corp. |

There are a few way to reduce risk.
1) Roles and separate hangers/maintaince arrays. Also look at the take container role as it's a handy way to store sleep loot in a shared hanger.
2) Reduce your risk. If you are in a C1-3 you don't need T3s, battleships, and faction gear/ships to run the sites. In general you'll make more than enough your site running fleet.
3) Multiple corps in an alliance are a pain but is very good for keeping newer members out of your stuff.
4) Orcas I personally try to store my valuable ships, loot, and gear in an Orca with a cloak and probe launcher. Unless someone hacks my account it's safe. Heck if someone sieges the POS I can just log out, and wait a week or so. (This works great if you have a HS static.)
That said remember that even vetted players will eventually steal from you. That with the risk of being sieged means you should never keep anything you can afford to lose in a WH. |

You can have some security by having several poses and limiting access to expensive stuff.
Recruit poses with limited access into one of the 7 hangars would even give each member living in the recruitment pos some safety.
Always keep very important items in hangars grunts cannot access. Only dirs.
Finally. Join an established corp and help boost it by your activity. There are lots of things a hi sec focussed corp living in a c2 does not know. |

Honestly: dont start a corp all by yourself.
I helped founding a WH corp and we started with about 8 people and still had a rough time. You absolutely need people that you can trust. If you start the corp on your own, you'll probably burn out before the corp gets to the point where you can distribute critical work to other people and get some redundancy. |

Selaya as of last night I have 3 other firm commitments, and one posible. All are well trusted and friends from way back. I agree that going it alone would not end well. We can run all of the potiential sites in a C3 with that many. My second account and one of my buds are both very skilled miners including gas collection. I already own a full pos and we have all of the needed ships and BPO's to be self sufficient. We all live in a hole full time now just not the same one. |

If i were you i would set the corp up as a HS mission running, mining and exploration corp. You can still do WH stuff from HS and it will be easier to recruit. Then after a few months you should have a good bunch of trusted member to join you on the real move to W-space.
Also, I recommend that you live in a C4 or a wormhole with a static C4/C5. It will be much better for mining and farming sites if you do. |

Static hi's are a death trap for new small corps because of ganks.
c5-6 is a death trap because of caps and large alliances lacking targets.
C4 with a static c2/3/5 would definitely be my recommendation as well. |

Disagree. First WH I moved into was just me and a buddy, into a C2/C2/Lowsec. Made a few billion and convinced some buddies to join us before moving to a better one.
My advice? If you've got a group a mates that are willing to go with you, just do it. Seriously, we started with a small tower and two Drakes. What's the worst that can happen? You get podded out and lose some assets. Meh, learn from it, come back better. |

IMHO if you are all about ISK, do the HS diving and base out of HS. Very easy to make good ISK with minimal risk and learn the ropes if you do decide you want to head deeper. But, if you want the whole WH experience thing, just grab a few buddies, put up a small/medium tower, and live the life. As was said, can be done cheaply and if you get evicted so what...
I would suggest just picking a wh and dropping a tower... The enemy of my enemy is... -ájust another guy that needs killin' |
