So recently several component in my PC got fried due to a power surge :S I've been using my friends laptop to run eve so that i can at least update my skills every now and then. Unfortunately he uses Linux which i dislike as a Gamer since a lot of times you have to do all this extra stuff while installing (like i did with eve). Not only that in most cases the games won't run as well as it would on Windows. Keep in mind this is my opinion :P I've been using Windows for games for nearly 10 years now - i cannot think of one occasion i've had a gaming related error or problem, at least not something that wasn't resolved by a quick fix!
After getting Eve up and running i now want to be able to make skill plans for ships. I usually use Evemon for this but recently it was updated which required the installation of Microsoft.NET framework which i don't think you can install on ubuntu. Is there any way at all of using Evemon on ubuntu? I've got the old version of it install (Dec 2010 version) which works up to only showing what skills are currently being trained, but it crashes all the time if you make a skill plan.
Anyway, all help appreciated :)

Prefacing a request for help by dissing the subject isn't going to win friends or influence folks.
For evemon under linux, this works just fine:
GtkEvemon
For fitting:
Pyfa Fitting Tool

Edited by: Adrian Idaho on 08/02/2011 20:35:14 EVEMon works fine for me using the following setup:
- wine-1.3.13 (compiled from sources)
- WINEPREFIX=${HOME}/.wine-EVEMon ./winetricks dotnet30
- WINEPREFIX=${HOME}/.wine-EVEMon wine EVEMon.exe
EFT works fine as well.

Can anyone get it working now though? some of these posts aren't old at all but the latest version requires dotnet 4 which I simply have been unable to get installed.

To be honest, I gave up and just installed Windows on a VirtualBox machine after I didn't get the newest version of EVEMon to run. EVEMon, EVEMentat, EVEHQ û all are working flawlessly now. Two EVE clients and VirtualBox open at the same time run a little sluggish, but well enough for trading while docked. |
