I've been looking around and I can't find an anwser anywhere, does the ME on a BPC matter when I'm researching a BPC to T2? I know the production runs count when using a decryptor, but will ME increase the ME level on the T2 BPC aswell?

No. The ME of the original BPC does not factor into the resulting T2 BPC.

So I can just copy tons of clean BPC's without it having any drawback? Cool, thanks

T2 BPC are (IIRC) -4/-4 base, modifiable by the decrypters used. I think the best BPC you can get from invention is either -1/-1 or 0/0...

The possible outcomes for ME/PE are: -4/-4 (base) -6/-3 -3/0 -1/-1 -2/1 -5/-2

For mass invention, I use un-researched BPO for making copies, and researched BPO for any required parts.

Can you please clarify on why you do that.

You could use researched BPO copies for invention, but there is no benefit. OTOH, unless you are copying the BPO 24/7, there is no reason not to use the researched one. There are some BPOs I buy strictly for making invention copies, so I never research them unless I have completely run out of other things to do :).

If you are actually making the T2 end products and not just the bpc's then you want your costs on the T1 items which are typically inputs to be as inexpensive as possible.

Correct.
Also notice I stated "mass invention".
Example: Large Shield Extender II requires a Large Shield Extender I
* Low volume: copy a researched BPO for invention (some will fail), then use the same researched BPO to make the tech 1 part required by the T2 BPC.
* Medium volume: copy a bunch of un-researched BPO for invention (some will fail), and only use the researched BPO for making the T1 parts required by the T2 BPCs.
* High volume: copy a bunch of un-researched BPO for invention (some will fail), and use multiple researched BPO for making the T1 parts required by the T2 BPCs.
