Seriosly,
This guy is a trade bot "Vil'en Narnah" check it out if you want. The account is on 23/7, ok fine, I can live with that. I've tried to find out when it sleeps "Vil'en Narnah"
It constantly trades Federation Navy Colonel I tags. Now, I'm not crying 'wolf' here. I undrestand you have OCD guys who update and check the market every 5 minutes for hours and hours at a time. But over the period of days? With no break for sleep?
Now I work from home so over an 18 hour period I can speratically change the orer and I'm constantly outbid for buy orders (and it has sell orders) within minutes! At random points throughout the 18 hours.
And its not multiple characters or names that do it, its only 1 "Vil'en Narnah".
I've already filed one peition, and obviosly it didn't work cause the account is arround. Its so freaking frusterating being a human player trying to compete with a bot, and completly unfair.
I think CCP probably messaged him once when he was arround the computer and he responded and said something like ya I check the market a lot and that was the end of there investigation. It just makes me mad that it prospers a player to cheat in the game.
*thinks about finding a trade bot and making a new character so if it gets banned oh well but at least I made cash!!!*
Come on CCP do something about this crap please. Hell, I challenge you players to check colonel one buy orers and see if I'm right or wrong on this one.

Market bots suck, true.
But try to trick him into selling below value, then buy him out and resell. |

You just have to find the limits the bot has on its orders, ad sell just below those. Just keep decreasing you sell orders until the point where the bot stops following.
If the bot has no limits then just lower the price of you sell orders close to you buy orders and when the bot follows buy his stock. It can be really funny if the same bots have buy orders as well. Then it is jut to push them up the same way and then resell its stock back to the bot at a profit :-)
I have done this a few times in the past, but now days the bots almost always have some limit on how low high their orders can get. In that case just find out these limits and put yourself in between, if the limits are to close together to make a profit than just let the bot have buy and sell orders at prices where it dont make a profit.
I have actually made a bot buy up his own sell order at one time.

Heh, funny, considering I just added the guy to contact list and guess what he is not online? So maybe he has a lot of free time, like you, but is not a bot. Hmm. Your story falls apart at the first hurdle, I wonder what else is wrong? "Updates within minutes of me, random points in an 18hour day!" would be my next guess, I can't prove that but then again neither can you, and apparently CCP couldn't either when they check your petition? It would be incredibly easy for them to prove, because in order for a bot to do this it would have to be requesting price data from the server every minute of every hour of every day, for all the items it is trading, in order to stay on top. That would take them all of 3 minutes to find out and ban the guy over while they "investigate" as has happened countless times in the past, and often to real humans not bots because of guys like you reporting them :D

He might just have gotten banned after that petition, and the OP was impatient with making the post.

What are the odds that the petition JUST GOT ANSWERED and account banned within a few hours of this guy making his post, when clearly he made the petition a little while ago? Sure it's possible..
tbh the guy may be a bot, he may not be, he's been a character for 1year 2months 16days though and to think if he was genuinely checking market prices and updating them within minutes of every hour of every day for all that time, and CCP not once had a report on it and banned him previously? People are always yelling about bots, I see little evidence for them in the markets though. I see evidence of stupid traders doing stupid things "I dropped my price .01 isk above buy, and he dropped his and filled the buy orders lol bot!" tbh a human can do that just as easily and stupidly (in fact more likely than a bot, who with a simple SIMPLE price check would avoid such mistakes) by being outraged by being PVPed on the market. I also see evidence that people spend hours on the market 'competing' with certain people over certain items both of them convinced the other guy is a bot (this thread for example, guy spends 18hours a day on EVE and is shocked when someone else does the same)

Its fairly clear that CCP doesn't really care much about bots. If they did they would use the permaban and maybe install punkbuster.
It is just a fact of life we are going to have to live with

Punkbuster is going to loose them customers, lots of customers, and it isn't going to affect bots one bit. Run EVE in a virtual machine and PB won't notice the bots running outside of the VM. Or you can always use something like remote desktop, run the bot on another physical machine.
I don't mind software that helps prevent bots and cheaters, but it should have absolutely no impact on my experience or affect my computer use.

I'm not familiar with punkbuster, why would it lose them customers (other than bots)?

It is invasive, ineffective, and comes up with false positives that punish innocent players.

He has been on my list of market bots for a while now. Trades almost every high margin item in Jita with pretty fast update times. If you buy/sell any high margin items in Jita you will encounter him.
