Sadly it appears to be the case.. I still remember my first involvement in a high sec war dec as a noob..
We were remote sensor boosting a inty to catch some WT's but long story short another target showed up that the inty had aggro too so he killed it and was like I'm getting the pod too.. then all of Concord decided to show up and explode our entire gang out side Rens top station.

Incursion busts in to a system. Bears out the yin-yang converge on it salivating for the isk and loot drops. They fleet, pull together in unprecedented ways. Strangers, coming together to fight the good fight. There are ECM boat, dps boats, remote rep boats. In all the hoopla and shaking and teeth chattering adrenalin nervousness unknown to the bears because this magnitude of red pluses invading a system is as close to pvp as they've ever even thought of getting near they beging to lock each other up and rep. The ecm jams the nasty red pluses. The dps reigns down upon the horrible Sansha invaders while the reppers go to work trying to save little Tommy in his Scorpion.
But the little reppers are far too foolish to make sure they readjust their targeting from those being repped to one of the bright red pluses in the overview before adding some dps of their own. It's red and can't be missed. But that's no reason. No, no, the unfortunate lack of experience of target switching, fast eye/hand coordination, making sure you're on what you should be on before activating any module, you know, pvp type experience in a, omfg wait for it... wait..... a pvp game just isn't there. And little Johnny who was repping little Tommy whilst Johnny was being repped by Jimmy and so on fired off an offensive module on someone not in his own corp. and POP went half the fleet that had so nobly assembled to beat back the Sansha invaders.
All cried. All dismayed at the ridiculousness and absurdness that the makers of this great game would desire, nay, allow this tragedy to be bestowed upon them. REMOVE MY RESPONSIBILTY AS A SPACESHIP WARRIOR AND DUMB DOWN THE NECESSITY OF BEING SURE OF WHAT YOU ARE SHOOTING AT FIRST cried the bears. And big papa bear tore down that mechanic. Because the readers of poetry in Starbucks type peeps just can't have any self responsibility bestowed upon their dainty little heads.

You could always, you know, wardec some of the more prominent incursion corps you see. Make up a Sansha-themed corp or alliance, and do a "-geddon" event, or have a network of corps dedicated to reacting and wardeccing.
Thing is, that involves real risk.

This change should come as no surprise, and it should also come as a lesson to everybody.
What lesson is that?
That CCP has ideas or a vision for how their game should be played, and that vision is not based on carbearism, nor griefing, or pirating, or PVP/PVe.
Incursions are handled in one way, as CCP obviously intended: for people to work together - for they must - to survive an incursion.
(you get a lvl 4 mission Drake 2-shotted to exploding you see this vision shed light upon thee ... oh that's the fireball)
This goal was also seen in the need to fleet up for handling sleepers in higher class wormholes (though you can solo 1-3 in some of the lamest (crap)tank and (crap)spank exploration fits as I have found).
Then CCP put a tax on people who remained in NPC corps.
Incursions have some genius behind them. To survive incursions, you not only need to join a fleet, you need to actually use a ship as it was intended, and equip the vessel according to the fleet's tank profile (shield or armor)
(sorry, no speed tank. Tried it. Died horribly)
The fleet equipment profile of an incursion fleet reminds me of (don't get too excited because my memory stinks - too much rum) the layout of ship types I was seeing in the Alliance Tournaments(hey, remember how CCP delivered the content in high res and so smooth? That was neat). The only thing I saw not work well in the Alliance Tournaments were destroyers (f**king coffins) and they suck too in Incursions.
CCP does not care how ANYBODY feels. As a lone wolf player, they hate us the most. But you PVPers, Missioners, carebears, griefers, and whatever else you call yourselves, they hate you too.
And this is why I love them. And that's not just the rum talking.
The RR-Aggro-Grief(-profit??) mechanic was rubbing their vision the wrong way, though it might rub some players' visions in a way they really liked, evidently CCP decided to do something about it because it was killing the fleet up goal. Their game, their decisions.
Should I type some more or perhaps drink this drink and help my GF make dinner.... oh oh..

I personally support the griefing of any and all carebears. This is a sad, sad day for my colleagues and I, we really enjoyed this.
But, there is more than one way to get the job done. Lets hope there aren't any more "except griefing" clauses in the future, shall we gentlemen?

I am a bit undecided on what to think of it because remote sensor boosting/tracking linking could give a nice boost to suicide ganking which is awesome :)

The problem with the change is that CCP is removing the one consequence to repping complete strangers for the sole purpose of ****ing up fights. It's a buff to neutral RR ***gotry.

CCP ain't overly bright.
This was ofc something they wouldn't accept for long with Incursions out there, but the fix they implement doesn't solve older issues - like when you have a fleet shooting hostiles/POS/whatever, and you have a RR cycle on someone that suddenly GCC on whatever/whoever, and boom whole your RR fleet gets GCC without a warning.
The true problem with this is that the active cycles doesn't trigger a warning message, that is all.
Remote repping criminals and/or incursion fleets could still be there in the game, if this cycle crap got fixed. But instead of solving the true problem behind the mechanic, CCP throws a diversion.
Not very surprising, that's what they usually do.

Is this the end for Lonetrek Salvage and Scrap and other such corps ?
Seemed the only way they got any kill's was from can flipping in merlins then when the carebear aggressed them a neutral remote repper would show up to support the merlin.
Am i to understand that nerf will affect can flippers that are classed as "outlaws"? or only Global criminals ?

This is not likely.. mainly because assistance goes both ways. How many times have orcas or hulks been saved by remote reppers after some jet can shenanigan? It's a double edged sword. I suspect there will not be enough interest in nerfing that. |

After reading the patch notes i was expecting a 10 pages thread on GD, nothing there.
Ok, so may it be C & P, and to say the least, this had to be done otherwise the whole idea of incursions would have gone down the toilet.
