So I got this escalation; due to prior experience, I'm thinking the last stage will be in low-sec. I'm trying to figure out what to fly for it. From the description I see that I will be webbed a lot, but not much else.
I don't want to bring an expensive ship into low sec, but obviously I need something that can complete the last site. I can fly amarr and minmatar cruisers and minmatar AFs and recons. My laser skills are better though. Don't have cov ops cloak yet though :( Any advice? It seems like Minmatar T2s have pretty good anti-sansha resists, but will an AF be able to do this site?

Check evelopedia for more details, but I am pretty sure that sniping is your best bet here.
Sniper zealot perhaps?

Can't do HACs yet :( I stopped AF at III, once I got my Legion, but I'm not willing to risk a T3. Also only have T2 pulses :( )
Playing around in EFT, I'm starting to lean towards a Stealth Bomber, but I think it will pop quickly. My probing alt really needs more combat skills before I do this kind of stuff I'm thinking. Good probe skills + mediocre combat skills works in high sec. Low sec will eat me alive.
edit: Lol, switched accounts when I put in my API key into EFT to see what works for me today rather than All Vs . No, this isn't the char either. Maybe I should get my main on some sort of disposable missile ship.

If you're dual boxing, you could put the alt in a disposable decoy ship to grab aggro from the rats, then pew pew them with your main. I run low sec sites that way sometimes, kiting the rats with a Recon ship (Rapier) and doing damage with a stealth bomber.
If there's two stasis towers, only one might aggro your alt, and the second *might* still web your main. ECM will work (intermittently) on NPC ships to stop them from webbing you (not sure about towers though)

My computers are too far apart to effectively dual box , so it looks like I'll throw a cheap-fit rupture at the site so I at least know what's in there in case I get one again later. This way I can try to train in that direction.

Well that was pretty fail. I managed to get in and out safely, take out the tower and the initial spawns, but then the last guy spawned with 6 elite BCs whose tank I couldn't break. On paper it should have been doable, but I couldn't orbit them slowly enough to hit with artillery at RF EMP range without having my own tank break . AC range would be stupidly short. Good news is warping to the site reset the timer so I have 24 more hours to figure this one out. Something tells me I'm just going to bring one of my main's Drakes.
Stuff to take note that's not in the wiki:
There's a single statis tower about 40km from warp-in. Initial spawn is kind of wimpy until you shoot repair drones. Repair drones will repair the statis tower, but not much else.

I do that sometimes, but my main comp tends to crash from time to time when I do that. This is fine if I'm say, mining in high sec. Not something I want to have happen in low sec. I think once I start thinking of my old Drakes as disposable, my whole problem goes away lol.

Yeah, gave up on subtelty and elegance and brought a Drake. It easily tanked the site. Even with 400-500 DPS it took longer than I'd have liked due to some of the elite ships. I definitely tried to overthink it. In the future, my probing alt will bring something cheaper and more suitable for looting salvaging I'm thinking. This way I can continue focusing on industry and exploration skills on that char too.

Did you have to kill the elite cruisers to get the boss kill? IMO exploration is about that final loot and getting it as fast as possible. If you can kill the overseer/overseer structure sooner rather than later, do it. Loot and leave or bookmark, leave, loot and leave.

No. The site could have taken 5 mins. Maybe if I could tank everything while webbed, I could have shot the drones, then pwned the BS and done in 2. All you have to do is shoot the repair drone once, wait for the BS spawn the kill that. The web tower takes one volley from a drake. Several of the frigs web though. Not sure if they scram, didn't really give them the chance.

Killing the BS ends the encounter. So you can't get the big loot every day.
Looking at my journey there were about 15m in bounties (9.5 or so from the BS) and about 5-10m in loot from the rest of the ships. So they're worth killing, but obviously not as efficient as just ganking the BS and getting out.
Also on my way out on my Drake, I ran into a gate camp guarding the entrance to the area from high-sec. Luckily I was leaving low sec and had warped onto the gate, so I was back in high sec before anyone even started targeting me. Had I tried to go out and do this escalation at this hour though instead of early this morning, I would have been in for a nasty surprise .
All in all, it doesn't really feel worth the risk. I guess if you like that feeling, then maybe. I know I could get better loot by running actual low sec plexes, but that seems like it's even riskier.

Honestly I'd say a potential pirate faction bpc is worth the risk.
And for Guristas, its a potential Pithi A-type small shield booster, worth upwards of 600 mil...so yeah I'd say its worth the risk

Yeah, if I were to do Caldari space. My probing alt is mainly equipped to deal with EM/Therm rats. I know Serpentis high sec space can drop up to 150m mods. Sansha space is pretty lame, capping out at 80m or so (that I've seen), but on the other hand this makes it less crowded so it's a bit less hit or miss.
