If you heard a Madonna tune, then you heard a Lady Gaga tune.

They had her on 60 Minutes the other night.
Eh ... another singer with some modicum of talent who is promoting herself by being outrageous ... *shrug*
And ... who thinks that because she has a public forum - it qualifies her to have a political opinion ...
She reminds me of Dennis Rodman ... though I think in his case he just liked the attention where as she's doing it to promote her career.
I don't know but ... I find people who are outrageous - for the sake of being outrageous ... to be boring ...

She actually has quite a bit of talent, go look up a youtube video of her before she became famous. It's a shame, really, that she decided to waste it all on crappy pop songs. --------------------------------------------------

The gf told me a couple days ago that people are seemingly reacting badly to her new single off her upcoming album - apparently there are now videos online demonstrating how that song is ripping off some old Madonna tune - as well as announcing she was now officially over listening to Lady Gaga (she had all her CDs), as she's just grown tired of her music.
Is it just her, or is this perhaps the beginning of the end of Lady Gaga hype? If you ask me, it's just a matter of time until the backlash commences and people move on to something else, tired of her act based on gimmickry, publicity stunts, and utterly inconsequential and disposable club music.
Plus, I watched some interviews with her and she just came across as dumb as a boiled potato. Madonna at least had the smarts, and knew how to reinvent herself and continue playing the public in different ways.

So what? After her 'wacky phase' is over she'll reinvent herself as a 'serious musician' and go with that for a few years until turning into a 'giant aging ****.' Then she'll pick up an obscure religion, adopt seven Eritrean children and demolish herself with plastic surgery.
Nothing we haven't seen before, nothing we will not see again within our lives.

Yeah ... that's about how I define 'some modicum of talent'.
The thing is ... there are more talented people out there than you can shake a stick at. Most of them never get past playing in small clubs. They get tired of that and get a real job.
I was in a garage band for a few months and ... it's actually really hard work. First - you have to practice well enough that YOU know the song - then you have to practice with the group.
I've also never worked with such a bunch of flakes in my life ... You'd be surprised to find out how many seem to feel that not showing up for practice - AND - not calling - is acceptable behavior ...
Love of music ... isn't the factor. You can play music by yourself.
Love of performing - is the factor that separates those who keep doing it from those who find something else to do with their time.
Now there are some people who have a stunning talent, people who are just above and beyond all but the few others like them ... but ... just because they've got that talent - doesn't mean it ever amounts to anything. Look at Susan Boyle before Britain's Got Talent. How many other Susan Boyle's are out there who are never discovered?
Then of course ... you have the children of entertainment management ... who can get into films whether they have any talent or not.
Madonna was another singer with some modicum of talent - who was world class at self promotion. The problem for Lady Gaga is ... Madonna's done it all and done it better.
But whatever ... she's managed to get to an advanced level in her field ... Good for her.
I just wish people weren't so stupid as to pay any attention to some entertainer's political opinions ... of course ... between that and wishing for a date with a super model ... I'd rather date the super model ... I mean ... if you're gonna wish for something you aren't going to get - wish big! Ha! Ha!
