filling closed containers only lets you put in stuff that fits as is, stack splitting isn't allowed at all, even holding shift. This makes this pretty much no change for me as far as the containers.

Left clicking in a show info window brings up a dropdown list, I find it rather annoying but not sure if this is a bug or a "feature".
New jump clones button, "jump to" right next to the "destroy" button. CCP really like doing that mistake over and over don't you? Having the buttons more separated and perhaps with the destroy button being a bit smaller than the jump button to make them more different?
Not from this patch but still annoying: Right click dropdown bug
And fix the overview -> states plx.
Keep it up, looking forward to more patches like this. You may want to do some slightly larger fixes as well and not only relatively small stuff like these. Mucho appreciated anyway :)

It's a bug and has been fixed internally and will be deployed in a future client-patch.

Dropping items directly onto a container is probably a feature many wants however it would also be good if this feature could be disabled in the settings. People like me may drop stuff in containers by mistake not intending doing so when dragging and dropping into a hangar and since I tend to have a large number of item in my hangar and an inversely proportional good memory it may cause me think I lost the items. In addition, since it is not possible to do an asset search in containers (afaik) it may be hard to find back stuff one "lost". Else this feature is pretty nifty, just tried it out. :-)

CCP, you must love getting your GM's to do overtime, right?
This is what I would call bad design, incase of intoxication, nervousness, or just being plain dumb.
It would be a lot better if it was designed more this way.
Just a tought, but now you will increase petitions with, "oops I destroyed my JC when I was about to jump into it," and "oops, sorry I did it again."
Toodles part 2 (Navigator sometimes......) grrr.

Edited by: Corozan Aspinall on 15/02/2011 15:45:22 Hiya. I don't normally bother to whine about this kind of stuff but ..
Why have you used the same bizarro icon for two different functions?
Why have you chosen to use a horizontal line icon in a predominantly spherical hud design? Not only does it draw the eye and conflict strongly it breaks immersion.
Why have you not made the icon opaque? Having two strong linear icons positioned dead center and top left breaks up the interface, draws the eye and contrasts (quite obviously) with the general aesthetic. To the extent it looks like precisely what it is; a hurriedly executed bolt on with no regard for the general layout or aesthetic feel of the client ui.
Please, consider changing, resizing and/or creating subtler less prominent icons ..
My suggestion: make the hud options icon spherical and smaller ie subtler. Make the system info icon top left triangular (or simply revert to the > used previously) and/or opaque.
Your 'overheat' modules buttons, which have been around a while now and I realise were nothing to do with this release, are a good idea. But. Sadly. Poorly executed. I'm going to add this on to this rant because its ui relevant, not patch relevant so bear with me. The clipping is poor - its hard to activate de-activate the buttons quickly in a fight. Why not divorce them from the main module icon and add a smaller icon at the side of each module button for this particular function?
Thanks for reading.
Bye.

Running Wine 1.2.2, I also get checksum errors. Logfile contains:
Originally by: repair.exe.log
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "repair.py", line 22, in <module>
WindowsError: [Error 3] Path not found: 'c:\\builds\\chaos'
Repair tool just keeps trying. When you tell it to not bother with a repair attempt, installation hangs.
Edit: just creating the folder and re-starting the update works fine. Should have tried that first!

Change that icon back, or at least the system info icon, it just doesn't look nice

Good direction improving the client and playability. Keep it up!!
Invisible aggressive NPCs, not so good. You should have known about this from adding Sleepers in wormhole space over a year ago and given players a away of adding them to all profiles. Perhaps an improved overview settings tool is next? == Support fixing the EVE UI |

Edited by: Arra Lith on 15/02/2011 17:29:14 I really liked option to show both auctions and Want To Sell contracts at once, simply by checking [exclude Want To Buy].
Now its again either [Show All] or you need to first check auctions-only and then WTS contracts only. A bit cumberstone :/
There should be a new option for contract type: "Auction & Want to sell"

It's been 6 hours since DT and over 12 for the last Incursion. Where are they?
You can't lower the spawn rate of the Incursion while making them last longer. This won't have any effect!!

Love the new release! Haven't messed with it too much. Saw something that could help though - totally unrelated.
An ability to view a route (like under the autopilot tab in Maps) WITHOUT going into maps would be nice... sometimes I wish I could just have that window up in the side so that I could watch for my next stop on my route - still pretty new on this trading thing and don't know all my systems that well.

I have an issue that's annoyed me for the past few patches...
I run EVE. It tells me there is a new build, asks if I want to download it, I click yes. This downloads an installer, the installer then downloads the big part of the patch and does its thing. Installer says it's finished. Leave the Cleanup downloaded Data button checked, and hit Finish.
...
Then nothing happens?
Why is the installer not automatically restarting the (newly updated) EVE client it just patched, or at least providing a tick option to be able to do so?
I find that most other games will auto-relaunch themselves after a patch is installed (or at least provide an option to run the game when the installer closes).
such an option may well belong in the thousand papercuts thread though I guess....

Odd, it auto launches after patching for me.
Maybe because I use a Mac?

A good guess might be that because of the "have to run this as Administrator" popup, the patcher would launch eve on the admin account (using its directory for settings, not yours). Which would mean a mountain of complaints about setting being gone (they are not).

Hi all
This has been added: The right click menu item has been added to the route label in space so that it is now possible to clear all waypoints from space without going to the starmap.
Can someone plese explain to me why we need this option.
As I know it, you can clear all waypoints in space. Just right click on the last waypoint/destination and the whole rout will go to dust.
Or do I miss something here? I don't use waypints that wery much so I don't know.

Yep another feature in the list that was already there pre-patch which I do find handy tbh.

Yes, same here. All I did before was to create a waypoint to nex system aka make 1 jump to clear em.

I just need to know which systems I set as WPs. If there were a white box around the WPs in the route UI, that'd be satisfactory for me.
I set multiple WPs for various purposes (DC collection, regional purchase pickups, etc). But I don't use AP...I manually jump using the yellow gate icons as my GPS. But, in order to see which systems I'm supposed to stop in, I need to keep my assets window open, or fly with the map open.
Just a minor change, but it'd be appreciated.

Lots of interesting changes but nothing to suggest that i will stop experiencing crashes about 10% of the time i change system. I play on various macs incl a new macbook pro (13") since incursion i cant take part in any large fleet fights cos i cant target anything (lock never happens just keeps cycling) and i get ridiculous lag - not really very happy Javascript:insertsmilie('','WebPost','text');

HAH, if we're going to bring up bad design with the patcher, you've missed the biggest issue.
Run client. Message pops up "There is a new build available. Would you like to download it?" Click yes. Client starts a download. Think "Cool. Time to go make a snack." Come back 10 minutes later to see that the patcher has downloaded, and would I like to start downloading the actual patch? I agree. I fly with my assets window open with it sorted on the number of jumps. It's how I navigate. Somehow, I was able to resize it once. And it fit just fine with all the tabs showing and it fit nicely again. When I relogged later on, it was back to it's former real estate consuming proportions. It would be very nice it could be resized to whatever size we like. Especially since that is our only way to customize the UI.
