Moved from EVE General Discussion to Ships & Modules - Jacques Archambault
a slasher is capable of outspeeding a stiletto, if you have the skills to fly both
with nav 5, minmatar frigate 5, and accel conrtol 4(my skills)
a slasher goes 3609.38m/s
but a stiletto, only goes 3602.34m/s
wtf is up with that?

higher mass perhaps?
...slasher is nothing more than a pod with an engine attached and a shield generator, while stilleto has 2 more med slots and 1 more low .

interceptors are tougher, whats the problem?
They sacrifice speed for firepower.

pshperd, i suggest you read up on your ships
it's assualt frigates that sacrifice speed for firepower and defences
correct me if i'm wrong, but inties are supposed to be the fastest things in space?
as well as being excellent dogfighters?
so why, is a tech 1 frigate, faster, than one of the interceptors based on it?
and grimpak, its' twofold, the stiletto is 10% heavier, and the slasher has 5%/lvl speed boost, from minmatar frigate, but far lower base speed

Yeah, minnie ceptors are broken. We know that. CCP prolly knows that. Is it getting fixed in this patch - nope, and this sucks.

Why don't you fly the slasher then? After all, the extra 7m/s of the slasher far outweighs the extra benefits of the stiletto

if you cant see the problem
let me spell it out for you, in words of not more than one syllable
and please, try not to lose track
the executioner, is 800m/s slower than the malediction and the crusader
the atron, is 1000m/s slower than the taranis, and ares
the condor, is 1300m.s slower than the crow, and 1000ms slower than the raptor.
the slasher, is 7m/s faster than the stiletto, and 273m/s slower than the claw
if you can't see which one doesn't fit the pattern, i suggest you turn yourself over to the scientific community, theyre always looking for more aliens to dissect

i am not saying that the slasher is a better ship than the interceptors,
(though, if the stiletto wasn't equipped to jam a minmatar ship, the slasher could actually outfight it, as it carries more brute firepower), merely, that either the minmatar interceptors, are too slow, or the slasher waay too fast.
and dropping the speed bonus of the slasher, breaks all the other minmatar frigates.

But isnt the Claw still faster than the Slasher?
With fitted Overdrives I can get up to 5525 m/s :)
Also, I guess the reason why all other races¦ interceptors are so damn faster is because their frigates don¦t have a speed bonus.

slasher was fast to start off with.
others wernt.
other races intys increased speed to around the same level
it happened that the slasher was already around this level.
problem is, if you increase them anymore the minmater interceptors would be about 10times as hard to hit as any other interceptor... that doesnt seem right. dunno what does though...

Well its fine... since the slasher was always supposed to be super-fast anyway. The stiletto is getting a third lowslot in addition to its 4th med, its gonna be the best multipurpose tackler there is, and the claw is really good, too.
