Hi y'all,
Iv been reading up on these forums trying to find something in regards to this, but so far have found nothing. Please note I do not believe this is connected to the bug currently going round where one side of the WH is active while the other side has expired. (at least I dont think so)
A few days ago I was scanning a constellation for WHs. I found about 11. Out of these 11, 2 of these WH acted very strange when I tried to jump through them. Both these WHs where found in LS, they seemed stable, no mass or time problems, but when I warped to 0 and jumped, rather than finding myself inside a WH, I found myself in another system, within another region. First time it happened I found myself in null sec, then second time in a low sec system. I appeared next to a WH in those random systems. I jumped back through them, but again, I was not in the WH, but in the system I started in. I effectively used a WH without being ever inside a WH. I asked around in fleet but no one has ever known of this happening.
Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone? Am I missing something major? What makes it even more odd, is that it happened twice within the space of about 4 hours, both in different systems.

Wormholes are just a means of travel. They are in fact what stargates are based on (stabilized wormholes connecting two points).
You are assuming the wormholes you find all lead to "Unknown space" otherwise known as Wormhole space. This is not the case. There are Known space wormholes that can be found and sounds like you did find. These connect all levels of known space, high to high, high to null, low to low, etc.
They can be quite convenient.

Happened to me too. One WH dropped me off in Amarr space, 21 jumps from my home constellation, and worse, my standing with Amarr was slightly less than -5. Was fun making my way back. I don't think its a bug and not all wormholes go to an 'empty' WH space.

Edited by: Marjorie Love on 16/02/2011 16:38:51 Yeah, though it was something like that. Just wanted to make sure. Weird though, with the amount of scanning iv done, i'd think i would have found more than just now. I suppose if i payed more attention it would have said if it goes to high/low/null sec before jumping then? Thanks for the fast reply btw.

Edited by: Raid''En on 16/02/2011 16:47:39 as said sketch is totally normal. we don't see much, as there's no static on this case, and so won't happen often. i remember for example A641 is a high to high system allowing freighter.
just so you know, if we talk about w-space as wh (or even w-space) is because we use wh to reach them, but it's not the devs who choosed this name (and it's also why use of the word is not strict) ---------------- ** Wormhole Trading ** |

Read the info on the wormhole.
C1, C2, C3: This wormhole seems to lead into unknown parts of space. C4, C5, C6: This wormhole seems to lead into dangerous unknown parts of space. This wormhole seems to lead into high security space. This wormhole seems to lead into low security space.

Fixed a part in bold for you, in case it's been suddenly changed after almost two years.
