How many of you think that Eve is a work of art more so then any other game? I strongly believe so this game is a work of art in its complexity and attention to detail. ItĘs never easy to make a masterpiece. The more I play Eve the more I enjoy it. Just like a beautiful painting the more I see it the more I enjoy it. And sorry for the bad Grammar

Its a nice looking game, but there are like 10000 thins that they could put in to make it soooo much nicer, I have a couple of idea's in my head that I could blurp out to mike the atmosphere nicer in the game, but I am not gonna, because there are alot of things that needs to be fixed and nerfed and balanced before we go into more of a luxury things

I'm with you Leumas, people complain too much and don't appreciate the details and the complexity that makes EVE the best MMORPG out there.
Yes, there are bugs, there are issues, but it has no comparison to other games, specially the typical "hack&slash" ones!

masterpiece yes. though it's more of a work in progress. Good, even GREAT so far but it definitely needs work.
I hope it stays strong for as long as mmorpgs are popular. It only gets better over time ________

A spectacular work of art, I know what you mean exactly. EVE was made by designers with a definite vision, and it will probably be my favorite for many years to come. Kudos, CCP!!

Edited by: Phony v2 on 29/01/2005 23:45:41 I'm sure EVE is the most visually stunning game I have ever played. It is my favorite game of all time and I'm sure it will always be. (until halo 3 and half-life 3 comes out :)(But thats only cause they have uber amazing storylines x2)) THe only thing that almost comes near EVES amazing textures and backrounds is halo 2 because of its super massive cool looking backrounds (IE the giant ring going around you when you are on it) EVE is still the best. Awesome job! Didn't know games could be this good.

That can be said for just about every other MMOG out there. MMOGs and single player games are just two very different things, not just in playstyle but also how they're developed.

Wrangler, eve is different. It's awesome in it's current state, don't get me wrong. But this game has so much potential to be more then what it is, more then any mmorpg out there, released or in development. ________

hmmmmm id have to agree that eve is a brilliant game.
but it has alot of work to be done on it before i can say it is an epic MMORPG.
But in highlight - the acheivment of CCP in developing eve-online right from the initial concept to its current stage of development is truly awesome. Cant wait for it's final completion stage.

A really great MMORPG is one where people say: "If you wouldn't change anything in this game from now on I would still play it till I drop dead." And then the devs make it better anyways. Eve is more like: "If you don't get the freakin balancing right, make all the useless stuff useful, make the game bearable to both pukes and carebears and finally bring some closure to the tech 2 craze, hopefully without starting a tech 3 one someone is gonna quit." And then the devs introduce some ubership that messes up the balancing even more and kills the entire premise of "Everyone can compete" by elevating the rich to another "techlevel".
I like the game a lot, but in my opinion there is to much effort poured into things that are supposed to recapture the original ideas. For example "The biggest ships are so rare that each one is well known and backed by an entire corp" - fact is it didn't work that way with battleships, and if there is a way to make it work with something even bigger, wouldn't it make more sense to fix Battleships instead of making them the new Cruisers?

EVERY MMORPG suffers from the problem of the old players beeing overpowerd compared to fresh players. EvE has solved this problem in the best way possible IMHO, but the problem with old players is that if they were around continously they managed to make a fortune by now and will be the first to buy the massive ships, deservedly so. But I think it¦s way too early crying foul just yet. The devs are very dedicated to this game and are continuosly working on it, contrary to the views of the crybabies on this forums.
Back to the topic I¦d say that every game kinda is work of art, the problem is that it has become an industry with MegaCorps calling the shots and right now I¦m bored out of my skull by the gazillion FPS/RTS/High Fantasy RPG and (*sick) Adventure clones out there. Especially the so called high profile ones (Doom3/HF2/Halo2/WoW)! EvE is unique in that it¦s the only that managed to get the Elite/Space Opera premise and turn it into a global event, infact they are still in the process of turning it. I wish them luck and wisdom in how they are spending my money to get around the biggest problems and don¦t get bought out by the competitors. _ Mal-`Appears we got here just in a nick of time. What does that make us?¦ Zoe-¦Big damn heroes sir.¦ Mal-¦Aint we just.¦ |

complexity - yes attention to detail - not exactly... nothings unique in this game., planets have boring descriptions.. space is preety empty at times.

If Eve:Online ever closes, I will petition for a Space based RTS based on EVE.
It would be kind of Ascendancy meets Homeworld meets Imperium Galactica, and can you imagine being amarr and planning your fleet from scratch :)
