Captains quarters First there will be only the Captain Quarters, which them (CCP) will use to test the gazillion technologies required to turn Spreadsheets in Space into a 3rd person experience without killing it in the process. The new Character Creator was a test to Carbon technology. The Captain Quarters will be a test to Incarna features.

Well I for one prefers to be confined to my Captain's Quarters for a while. No matter if it's a few months or 8 more years. Instead of being confined to a multiplayer environment that bugs out on at least 1/3 of the available features and crashes at the drop of a hat. There _will_ be bugs, most likely serious and show stopping bugs, during the first iterations of this totally new environment. EVE never will have 15 million subscripers. But some lame ass dress up MMORPG with that carbon technology easily could achieve 15 million stupid teens to subscripe with their dads credit card. Carbon is good for CCP, bad for EVE players. Basically, if they hit the jackpot, they might as well turn off TQ straight away since this is pretty small as MMORGP anyway.

I hope they redo the backgrounds in space when they do Incarna too. It'd be a shame to be introduced to those beautiful Incarna graphics then undock to relatively dated space background graphics.

Second will probably be Stations. Third will probably be adding more content to both the Stations and Quarters as well as the Character Creation, plus Bug Fixing and optimizations. Though, I don't know how much quicker they're going to push out these stages, if I am correct. I'd imagine over 4 to 5 months. Even so, I'd bet Stations will have a lot missing from them until the next two or three "expansions". Though in the latest EON is was confirmed we will have games to play in Station by this Summer, so here's hoping that is still true. Though I don't see why it wouldn't be, the in-station games looked pretty much done and working a couple years ago. I'm ridiculously excited for this, it's the whole reason I started playing EvE in '08. I remember thinking back then "Oh, only a few months and we'll be walking in stations! :D", sadly that never happened. But I waited and it appears the waiting will be paying off.

Actually, the second better be Captain's Walk-In Wardrobe and Shoes Rack because the current selection of outfits sucks. And, the Quarters better have different light sources because, well, the character generator light sources suck.

Since EVE already takes place at "the final frontier" all you can do is get more specific and add things at a smaller scale... like POSes and PI and eventually Captain's Quarters. Plus station spinning is already a single player ordeal, if they changed that I know I would personally be ****ed. I don't want to go out into public when I fitting my ship! so basicly if they have to cross walking with space, I think this testing the waters is the best way they could do it. also the whole walking with friends thing will most likely be up 4-5 months before it's released in dec on sisi.

Considering Captain's Quarters took about 4-5 years to develop i'm guessing they're probably waiting for real life technology to catch up with EvE's before they deploy the full Walking in Station experience.
