His reason is that he wrote the thing. And you really seem to be having a bad day?
Bad day? Not really.
It's just that I've been involved in projects like this for what seems like a Sisyphean eternity and, it never fails, someone always is adamant that we use some package or library that nobody has ever heard of, developed by one person and thus dependent on that one person continuing development into the future and upon which rests the entire success or failure of the project.
Deja vu all over again.
Last side project I got involved with the required package was .... Open Laszlo! And you're saying to yourself "WTF is that!?".
Precisely my friend. Precisely.

But but but, it's "the premier platform for rich internet applications"... or so google tells me. Also while I don't necessarily disagree with you, it's none of my business what Karb and Beansman want to spend their ISK on, no reason to get worked up over it. That's all I really meant. --

I can see your point of view completely, King23 is a "noname" framework - but it just so happens to have been built by Peter Powers (hence forth PP). And seeing as PP really isn't going anywhere - and we can talk to him each day - plus he uses King23 in his own websites, i highly doubt it'll just die.
Also we weighted the different frameworks against each other, and initially wanted to do it without one - but opted to use King23 after som lenghty discussions about performance, how well it would scale, ease of coding etc. And in the end we decided to use King23, mainly cause it was made for Mongo, made for use with mercurial (some extremely fast http server - thats all i know, lol)
But anyway, if you aren't interested in joining the team and helping out, but only want to write why and how we went wrong or are going to go wrong - then please, please, PLEASE stop writing. And just come onto IRC - much funnier having a discussion there

I'm a experienced coldfusion tsql and javascript developer. Altho coldfusion is not php, my passion lies in frontend interface design(messing around with javascript). But i should be able to manage some light php and work myself up from there(never hurts learning another language).
Ive been looking for a new hobby project for a while now. And this sounds like fun.
Ill hop on irc tonight
