So I heard that if you have high faction standings you can decline missions and not lose stupid amounts of standing with your agent. Or do you still lose the standing with the agent but because your faction standing is huge they still give you missions?
My questions are the following;
1. How do you get high faction standings?
2. Do lower agent standings reduce your rewards for missioning?
3. Is there any point to high faction standings if you don't plan on rejecting a butt-load of missions?
Also, the search function was broken, or I would ahve used it.

Well it works sort of, but delicing a lot of missions will always lose more standing then you can make up for.
1 Do a lot of missions and do COMOS missions
2 Yes the effective rating of the agent goes down as does your income
3 Yes it allows you to do the higher COMOS ones giving one time awesome awards

High faction standings give you access to agents without corporation and/or agent standings. For example if you have 7.0 standing towards Caldari, you can use any caldari agent up to level 4 Q20.

The Faction Standing Repair Plan can help raise positive Faction standings as well as repair negative Faction standings.
Now for your questions.
1. How do you get high faction standings?

Answers:
1. By completing missions for various storyline and/or Event Agents (listed in the 'Plan' linked above).
2. Yes, however that can be offset by training up Social, Connections and Negotiation skills.
3. In my opinion, yes. You'll be able to gain access much faster to all agents, including the 'special' agents, of all corps within that specific Faction without having to grind a lot of missions for each corp/agent. Having high Faction standings will also indirectly affect the type of missions offered by the agents. You can also safely travel anywhere.
