i don't think its actually written down but what i think happened is this:
The Amarr tried to take over the jove and turn them into slaves (like they did to lots of other nations)
Slight problem, the Jove were tougher, so i'm assuming the Amarr lost

this is most likely the case, judging from the amarr timeline... But look at the map, amarrs are ALL the way over there (points to lower left hand area) and joves are allll the way over here (Points to upper right hand cornor) they have to go through alot of the other empire's space to get to the joves, so.. it just doesnt add up

I think it was more to do with the Amarrian ego being knocked when they discovered an empire grander and superior to theirs. Also the Jove didn't like the Amarr aproach to life. But because the Jove are all ****** up now it doesn't really matter.
BTW the Jove empire was originally in Heaven. ------------------------------------------------ I've always owned Kehmor, cheap as chips off Ebay

Afaik the Great Wildlands used to be Jove space. Angel took over the stations the Jove left behind. Theres one in Utopia (Though curse region) i believe.
All though its possible the Jovians moved twice, i recall reading about that.
As for the war, I think the Amarr attacked the Jove thinking they could wtfpwn them with their overpowered apoc tanks but Tomb nerfed the Amarr so they lost and then the minmatar started their rebellion due to most amarr now being dead so Tomb nerfed them too.

The Heaven constellation in Curse used to be the jove empire, they thought it was the location being the cause behind them degenerating, hence the region became known as Curse.
The amarr controlled the Minmatar Republic back in the day of the jove war so the logistics of it all isn't that far fetched, the minmatar rebelled as the amarr got their asses handed to them and there you have it.

How it went was like this (I think).
The jovians sent a fleet down to the Amarr Empire, to form relations. The Amarrians viewed the Jovians and just another race to conquer and enslave.
The Amarrians sent out the main bulk of their armada to go against the small Jove fleet. The Amarrians were comepletely decimated, loosing nearly all their forces in one massive battle.
The Minmatar decided to use this defeat to their advantage and revolt when the Imperial Fleet was still recovering.

Maybe the next novella can be about the Jovians and the events that happened during their 1st genetic crisis, all the way to the Amarr-Jove war? ^^

Edited by: Brother Edward on 30/01/2005 15:16:37 At the time of the Jovian war the Amarr Empire was at it's height, including the entire area now know as Mimnitar space in it's borders. It is from this area that the war was fought.
The Amarr did not attempt to enslave the Jovians, as Mimnitar propoganda would have you believe but sought peaceful contact. The Jovians attacked our fleets unprovocoted or a mis-understanding of territorial borders.
The Mimnitar Terrorists then used this time of war to strike at the peaceful people of Amarr. They then used lies and propoganda to gain support from the Jovians to aid them in their attacks.
Faced with a foe that possessed advanced technology as well as a war within from the Terrorists attacks, it was deemed wise for the Amarr fleet to withdraw from the region.

Yup Amarr saw the Jove thought hmm they might make good slaves. So wen on over to jove space and got WTFPWNED by a small jove fleet. This decimated the Amarr fleet and so the Minmatar took this chance to rebel.

According to some of the stories the Jovians were the first to build Titan sized Motherships, and lots of them, so I guess the jovians could also be a nomadic society.

Only a fool fights in a burning house, this is wisdom at it's simpliest. For the Amarr to say they cannot withdraw from a bad situtation would be to lie. Wisdom is a gift from God and we use it as we see fit.
In the case of the Jovians, God had not yet deemed it time for us to possess that space. We are but finite beings unable to understand the will or wisdom of God. We only can know that He is supreme and all things work toward his purpose.
"Thought He slay me, yet will I worship Him." That is the true nature of the Amarr. We have faith that Gods will is to be done and we are the instruments of that will.

Someone get me a medic, I'm gonna die! I can't breathe I'm laughing so hard.
No wonder you hide your face, slaver, spouting tripe like that. In order for the Jove to so decimate the Amarr, of their own aggression, they would have had to sweep across half of Amarr space just to catch all of the fleets that were destroyed when Amarr did attack the Jove.
Amarr massed its armadas and pushed the Jove. But the Jove pushed back, and all those pretty golden ships broke apart like so many paper mache toys.
Face it, slaver, you lost. And the Minmatar did, as you say, take that opportunity to stick a Khumaak in your throat. So you lost twice. Your propaganda stands plainly forward as the lie that it is.
Pull your hood lower, you're blushing.

The Jovian infestation attacked Amarr without provocation while we were distracted by the Minmatar's misguided rebellion and the interference of the sinful Gallante.
Still our empire remains the largest and most powerful of all the races.
Why? Because we are superior to all we will outlive all. God has his plan for the universe and it's time fast approaches.
As for the Jovians they suffer from a hideous disease brought on by God's wrath. I know many of you would say "well they had the disease before they attacked" but the truth is God KNEW they would war with Amarr, His chosen race, thus he struck them down with illness even before we had met them. God's forsight is truly without equal.

Here's an exerpt from the log of a Jovian BS during the battle.
The Apocalypse barely scratches you, hitting for 0.0 damage. Your Ultra Mega Pulse Death Ray V perfectly strikes the Apocalypse, wrecking for 6000000 damage.

I dont think so, i havent read any refrence to any dieased jovians assaulting the amarr... though it might be a possibilty. Now, if the amarr-jove war was durning the reign where the amarrs were out conquering worlds, that would explain alot... but they still got wtfpwned by the joves

For details as to why to Joves where in Amarr space, I'm not sure.
But, the Amarr viewed the Jovian presence in their space as 'defilement' and sought retribution of the defilers. But, everyone knows it's more fun and kickass to be a defiler, so the Amarr got owned with the Anti-Arrogence gun, t5, beyotch!
The Jovians did start out in Curse space, but moved for whatever reason to the region they're in now. The Jovian Disease is a condition they have developed over time from their continued meddling with their peoples genetic code, one that causes in the final stages a severe, unrecoverable depression, ending in death. Apparently Amarr like'em pale and jaunt, just not pale, jaunt, and with better guns
Btw, gold looks good in explosions...

I remember reading once that the Jovian Empire at one point rivalled the Amarr one in size and majesty, but due to Jovian Disease they withdrew from everywhere. The question is, where in this timeline were they when they layed the smackdown? I reckon, in recess.
Originally by: The War Drones On result was the largest space battle that had been fought in the world of EVE up to then, today it has only been surpassed by the Battle of VakÆAtioth during the Amarr-Jove War.
What is VakÆAtioth?
By the way Istvaan, just write the bloody story ffs. ------------

Around 23216 AD was the amarr-jove war

Got it the other way around. Van'akitoajsdfhasd was the Jove/amarr battleground.
Anyway, regarding the disease, it doesn't CRAZE the jovians, just makes them depressives. Much like emo music. And emo people. And the air they breathe.
In any case, that's why they moved so much, to escape the disease that made their people suicidal. Much like constantly changing chairs because your ass hurts, then $1250 later you find out what happened to your hamster after that keg party.
