When you (CCP) speaking about pirate factions, I guess the drone regions are not getting updated like the last time where you introcuded new exploration sites.
I couldn't care, cause I don't live there anymore but: I remember at the last time when you added 320 sites ...... only spreaded across the 5 pirate factions ...... Devblog

Actually this is good because this means a buff to low sec. Right now 4/10 spawn in them could use some 5/10 and 6/10 in low sec.

OK then. That dev blog was, ehhh, interesting ...
But I've got to ask.
So now we're having Team BFF working on all sorts of small technical issues. That's certainly good.
And now we have, if I read this correctly, Team Commie Pinkos, working with a small teams on a faster deployment cycles on picking up backlog issues to do with PvE?
So: Is this going to stay this way for a while? Are we going to see, dare I say it, several iterations of this? Is CCP actually, you know, going to work on these 'low hanging fruit' issues for some time now? Is there perhaps some other small team going to do fast deployment cycles on some other issues as well? Like tackling balance issues of modules, weapons, or, dare I say it, ships perhaps?
Because, you know, beyond the actual writing in that dev blog, that's all pretty scary stuff ... Inappropriate signature removed. Zymurgist |

Great stuff. Will the new Angel and Serpentis 6/10s be seeded into the lowsec exploration system (like the Blood/Sansha/Guristas 6/10s) as well as being available in nullsec?

Awesome devblog, I appreciate the entertaining writing style :)
I will chime in with other folks though to ask for a (dare I say it) clear, direct and succinct statement about whether 4/10s are being removed from hisec, and why nullsec is getting the buff before lowsec.
This pilot, for one, is looking forward to helping test this content on Singularity.

Are you planning to look at the number of sites vs the number of explorers as part of this update? Scanning has gotten a lot more acessible, and as a result it seems to be getting harder and harder to actually find any of these DED sites.

Nice tip of the hat guys! Gimme that V-twin and not only will I jump it off Stone Mountain but I will set a record on the Dragon's tail. Everyone knows CCP ATL is the best branch. :)
Seriously though - Sounds like a great expansion guys! I like many other EVE-o-philes, dislike reading about how improvements to "old" ideas in EVE is reinventing the wheel and not worthy because devs would rather be doing "new" stuff. I would call it an expansion because it is newer than what was there before and still takes skills. Ultimately though no matter what you call it - it is what keeps the players happy and loving it and that is really what EVE is all about - All the different explosions and goodness of internet spaceships 23.5/7 :)
Cheers! Can't wait to see what is next.

Great, really great CCP, Love the work you're doing right now on Eve, fixing old content, finishing it, making it into what it was meant to be.
It's what I've been hoping for ever since I started playing the game and noticed some features still needed polishing.
I just hope you don't suddenly decide that you're finished with polishing the old content, and concentrate on new shinies again, I hope this is a long term plan of yours, to implement this design process. Every time you make a new feature, you spend some time on it afterwards to make sure it works as intended. Keep polishing, yeah, keep rubbing, it's getting shinier.
We don't need new shinies, we just need you to polish the shinies we already have, to make them shinier again. Edited for spelling |

Quote: Commie Pinkos Robespierre You want old stuff? We're talking dinosaur content save the soul of humanity with machine guns cyber-opera space-punk Mother Hubbard
And I probably missed a few even more obscure references.
TLDR: "you want old? We'll give you old in ways to make you regret asking."
No? Prove us wrong. For starters the idea of calling it old, In eve, what isnt, when you get down to it. Anomalies and signatures are just as ancient at their core. Really nothing but probeable mission spaces. New is PI, and to a lesser degree, sleepers and T3.
Left with many uncertainties. Will current distribution of sites be changed? Tbh I wouldnt know the difference if 4/10 was removed from hisec, I have not seen one since the occurrence of wspace. Nor any 3/10 for that matter, though there might have been a unrated rogue drone site or 2 in that category and some of the better unrated blood sites, in terms of combat difficulty but not drops (at best giving "dark blood" not centi/centum), rate somewhere in the 3-4 ballpark.
Will the remaining statics be moved to probing only? Have you contemplated spawn rates on those if you do move them, compared to the current campfarming rates on statics. It would be a shame if you let scarcity shrink the already small pool of customers for the modules that those sites supply.
Planned difficulty? Size of group, needed dps, needed tank+buffer. So far, explorationwise, I have not run into anything in lowsec, that a t2fit raven + basilisk could not have for lunch, meaning that probably a T3 with a logi/t3logi partner could do it as well. And that includes a few nossing blood sites that made a legion solo attempt end in a mail from PEND.
Timeframe for seeing any of this on sisi? Devoting specific regions/constellations on sisi to spawning only those new sites for efficient feedback possibilities?
ps: I like devblogs to be a fine blend between verbose and concise, adeptly switching between the two, reassuring the reader of the competence and sanity of the author, demonstrating insight into the subject at hand and awareness of player angles. Not trippin rebelranting, bordering on sarcastic brainfarting. tldr2: I expect CCP posters to hold a much higher standard than some of the more unsavory forum residents.

Question for the Devs regarding some confusing wording in the blog. It is stated that the new systems will first be tied into the Sov Mechanics for 0.0 space. This is extremely vague, can it please be clarified? I can only interpret this as new escalation possibilities for lower-tier Cosmic Anomaly sites to the new DED plexes (much as sanctums can escelate to 10/10 now), and/or adding the new 6+/10 sites to the signature attractor upgrade. Can clarification of what exactly "slammed into the sovereignty upgrade system" entails?
On a related point, "All new sites are then being seeded into both the exploration and escalation systems like their elder brethren". Does this mean that the new DED complexes will behave just as regular ones are now, or that this functionality will be added in later - like the 5-/10 complexes seemingly are?
The wording is rather confusing in both these instances. Can we please get a clarification?

One person likes this.
Seriously, do the people that write these posts (btw, it's not "newest devblog" it's "newest post") have some sort of rules printed on the walls ? "How to write camp and pathetic texts with lame attempts at cuteness or being cool?" Must be.
No wonder that most of these posts start with a self-deprecating, appeal-to-pity, fallacious "TL;DR".
Actually, I'm starting to believe that those TLDR's aren't lack of taste cuteness anymore, they're really sincere.
Maybe the persons writing these things go on thinking "****, I could write this in 3 lines and then go fix lag, but rule 3C requires at least a comparison to ZOMFG!ponies... I'll slip in a TLDR to share my misery... The supervisor will never suspect!!"
Now to make this a productive critic:
Write less text on blogs and more lag-fixing code.
That's why we pay you.

Oh, so you're basically just stupid, got it. See, more varieties of deadspace modules have very little to do with your LP conversion rate. Furthermore, more variety in plexes has nothing to do with your LP conversion rate.
The thing that boggles my mind is that this is CCP iterating to finish old content - effectively making it newer and nicer - and you're *****ing because it might (but almost certainly won't) affect your LP conversion rate. You tinfoil hat it as a stealth nerf.

First time on the market? Ok i`ll explain. It will affect conversion rate if new deadspace modules will be just same as the other items from LP shops. Take FN Tracking Computer for example. It have strict lower price, you cant lower it below some point. Price for it now 170mil, and just identical Serpentis TC costs 100mil and it can be lowered without restrictions (deepends on greed of the seller). And now if you throw on the market another "new" Blood|Sansha|Angel TC the price will cut even more, lowering profit from popular LP stores or even making them worthless. Isn`t it obvious?

You do realize that they aren't creating new items. They're simply creating deadspace complexes that will drop items that aren't currently in game. Like Pithum B-Type Medium Shield Boosters. Examine the dev blog:
Originally by: Dev Blog Our predecessors may not have finished their great temples to space piracy, but in their wisdom they fashioned all of the space-magic faction modules the project would require.
For all intents and purposes: if it isn't in your EFT right now, it isn't going to be after this gets deployed. And even if it were, I wouldn't expect it to affect the price of your shield booster any more than Pith B-Type Larges affect CN Larges.

Ahh... the Irony of using so many words to say so little, complaining about devs using many words to say not much :)
They will never fix lag. The more ships their combat simulator can handle, the more ships will be squeezed into blobfests.
I pay CCP for a cool SciFi MMO that has depth to the story. EVE Online is more than "grab a tank, go shoot stuff."

Fellow pod pilots and esteemed colleagues. I am sure you are all equally pleased with the fruits of our labour, which are a direct result of our pilot project of bribing rewarding devs with PLEX for Beer, as opposed to the traditional method of using ungoldy concoctions of griefing and trolling. While we are still in the process of finalising the actual delivery of aforementioned beer, we hope to roll out this revolutionary new method to all the dev teams.
On a more serious (?) note, as Liang Nuren pointed out, the items are already in the game (in name only), it's just there aren't any sources to get them from. As a rule of thumb, DED 1, 2 and 3 drop frigate sized C, B and A-type modules. 4, 5 and 6 drop the cruiser sized ones, and 7 to 10 drop your battleship sized C, B, A and X-type modules, with the appropriate faction specific prefixes. So, seeing as none of the factions had all 10 DED plexes, none of them dropped all their deadspace modules.
I was going to ramble and whine in typical carebear fashion about null being first, and 4/10s allegedly becoming low-sec only, but I currently have hot chocolate so I shall refrain.
As for the actual writing style of this devblog, +1

Never fails to amaze me... Devs don't communicate with us and everyone gets mad. Devs communicate with us and they are wasting their time instead of working on EVE. Devs don't give enough content. Devs post a lot but no substance. Nice, but we don't want this, we want that. This isn't our pet peeve so, awesome or not, we don't care. There aren't any pretty pictures. There are no graphs or charts. When there are, stop it and get back to the lag issue. Devs are too dry. Devs are too witty. We want more detail no matter how much detail there is even in the early stages of the matter. As I read the posts, the first reaction is amazement, then a dumbfounded look, and finally laughing and shaking my head. I would never want to be a dev. EVER. It's a mostly thankless, no-win job when it comes to the vocal community.
That said, I thoroughly enjoyed this blog. Quite entertaining and enough content to believe that there is some good stuff coming down the star lanes. BUT I do have a few questions...
- Why not divide them a bit better as an earlier post suggested with some rare higher levels occasionally popping up in hi- & losec just to make it interesting and allow for the rare chance of some better loot in those areas?
- Why is this starting in 0.0 instead of losec as is the general consensus? Losec definitely needs the love.
- With the DED coming back into focus, could we please get the DED Social skill inserted too, tying into DED missions leading to some of these DED sites?
