Faction items.... they seem most of the time to be subpar to T2, but theyre meta above 5, which makes me think theyre superior to T2... how does this stuff fit in? Is it (as I think it is) you use these if you cant get T2 stuff (even though they cost 100x the price of the T2 stuff but dont require the skill) until you have the skills to get T2 stuff? ------------------------------------ "You know, my foot oughta vandilize your ass" |

Sometimes that is the case, but some faction items are actually superior to their T2 counterparts. Shield boosters, armor reps, missile launchers (But NOT guns), damage mods... all these are superior to their T2 counterparts. Simply compare the stats to the T2 version to check.

Some are equal to their tech 2 counterparts, but most are just plain better. one thing they do excel in though, is fitting requirements, which can be pretty important.

No, for this you should use meta 4 items (and realize that sometimes, they're better than t2).

Check the stats. Plenty of guns have the same damage stats, but fitting is better, they cost less and don't need high SP. But if you have the skills to use T2 they can give a few extra percent stats.

ECM modules, warp scramblers, stasis webifiers, etc etc... The list goes on and on dude it's like half the modules just open up your EFT and pick a module you've got a 50/50 shot at it being better.

For me, the Dread Gurristas X-Large shield booster is a god send for my Maelstrom. Once i got skilled up fairly well, i needed it for its lower CPU requirements. The actual boosting and activation cost was manageable.
So some have better stats than T2, other have better fitting requirements

Some have both as in lower fitting needs and more effective. Some give less with lower fittings and some don't even do jack.

Meta 4 modules usually cost a lot more than T2 modules.

Armor plates, whole EW department, some in engineering (cap relays, neuts and noses), inertia stabilizers and overdrives...
