Hello.
I got some good question. i used noctis to tractor-beam wrecks out from belt grid. i made 3500km and i still was in grid. Sounds like nonsence but yes i still was in grid. Somebody can explain me grid mechanics and that i did wrong.

idk maybe tractor-beaming the wrecks functioned as adding new objects...

So a Noctis tractoring something can enlarge a grid? Interesting.....
My guess is the game wants to keep the Noctis and the tractored object in the same grid, which would not happen if the Noctis crossed a grid boundary. So the game moves the boundary.
