No. It is terrible.
Watch a playthrough on youtube and then thank me (isk is always nice, shall we say.. 10 billion?) when you realize that I just saved your hard-earned money from a tragic fate.

Recommend it as a good FPS: nope.
Recommend it as a lot of mindless fun shooting lots of colourful badies up in the most creative ways possible: yes.
The story might as well not be there, and the dialog gets a bit old after a while, but leashing an enemy into the air, wrapping a flail-grenade around his face and then kicking him into his friends and blowing them all up doesn't really get old. And it gives you a lot of points to boot.
(Lets see, that would be Grenade Gag and Homie Missile for your target, Gang Bang for all those killed, and probably a few more besides, especially if you also detonate a few barrels or throw a couple into spinning fans or into a cactus).

Bought it, loved it.
But it should be rated I, for Immature.
Launching a group of enemies into the air, blasting one into the sky with a flare, and disintegrating the rest with burning buckshot.
That doesn't get old very quickly. But if it does, there's 130 more ways to kill somebody, and the game keeps score. and further more why do i even need a sig? |

It's nice, but i kinda regret paying full price for it, especially because of the screwup with graphics settings - Some recent-ish graphics cards weren't recognized properly, and the settings were set.... Strangely by default (MASSIVE glitches). For some reason the configuration files were encrypted by a day 1 patch (huh?) so you needed a decrypter or a prebuilt .ini to fix the problem. Not the best way to make a first impression.
The game is a corridor shooter, basically. It also gets a little repetitive after a while, though it's still kinda fun. It does show it's console roots a little too much for my liking. It does have some awesome moments, but that's it, moments.
Wait for the demo and try it.

Sorry but single words uttered by people I don't know carry no weight. I was at the cinema and while sitting through the trailers for upcoming movies I heard two people behind me call everything awesome, "That looks awesome" "That's going to be awesome" etc.
They were all terrible in my opinion, but to these guys everything they put up on that screen was the goons knees.

I bought it on the xbox and not the PC and I'm glad I did - it certainly suits the xbox more than the PC in my opinion.
Trying to find new inventive ways of killing as many people as possible is always entertaining.
I find that it's a good mix of Borderlands and Gears of War, myself :)

I played the demo. To me it seems like it would be a great LAN party game with your friends, but I don't see it being much of a good game otherwise. ----

Christ, look at how cool and edgy this kid is.
It's a good laugh if you don't take yourself too seriously, as it's bit of mindless fun and the team work is really satisfying in Anarchy mode. One person kicks a dude in the arse, second attaches an explosive flail to his head and the third person fires the drillgun and pins him to a moving train and he spins like a bloody sparkler before exploding in the distance, that is priceless. Midnight Express indeed.
That said though, from what I've heard the PC version is a bit buggy and just is generally all over the shop so wait for it to be patched or get it on a console if you can.

More or less this, it's decent fun for a run or two of the singleplayer but the fun really lies in competing scores in the Echo mode, which basically is a pile up of all the enemy-heavy segments just to see who can get the highest score and it's posted on a global leaderboard. Same with Anarchy which is basically four of you trying to out-do each other in one arena against waves of increasingly difficult enemies with higher and higher score requirements to proceed to the next.

If, like apparently half of OOPE, you want your FPS games to address the complex dichotomy of good and evil and reference obscure writings of Plato and Dostoevsky while also maintaining a reality shattering framerate and better resolution than real life then no, you wont like it.
If you want a tongue-in-cheek shooter to blast through with your friends and not take yourself at all seriously then it's a good buy. Maybe wait until the price comes down a little if you're still not sure.

When did "edgy" become a derogatory term? Fyi I am not aiming at being cool or edgy, I am simply saying what I feel with no self censorship. The game looks like **** made for 10 year olds.
Its obviously marketed at kids (or stupid man-childes I guess), just to make an easy buck. It has no real depth other then superficial "luls". It brings nothing new. Its a waste of both time and money.
Or perhaps its just me who demands something more from the games I spend my limited and precious time on? Something more then superficial meaningless drivel. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks everyone, got some varied answers as to if its good, but i take out of this that its fun as long as you enjoy it as fun and don't take it seriously, and wait until its a lower price which i most defiantly will do if i do end up buying it.
Thanks again for the responses. ______________________ ______________________ Minmatar in my blood. Gallente by my choice. Caldari as my weapon.

But then again, you could simply just watch one of the playthroughs on youtube. That way you don't get a hand-cramp from doing all the combos and you pay no cash. If you like "superficial lulz" and you don't pay any money for it, then it's not really a waste of time, is it ?
