I somehow found myself running a lvl 2 mission...human cattle. I read that in part 4 which I have facing me i am going to encounter an interceptor that will web me and someone else that might warp scramble me.
I was unable to complete the Burning of the Hive without fleeting up with someone. I didn't have the firepower to defeat the ships warping or webbing me and I couldn't move.
I don't want to accept the mission until I learn how to counter these tactics. Is there a good tutorial or guide on different ways to defend against these?
Thanks for any info

The real key is having appropriate sized drones, preferably a full rack of 5 T2's with some Drone Interfacing skill levels trained. Combine that with a stasis webbifier and you should be able to kill them fairly quickly. Killing tackling frigs quickly is important, especially earlier on as you're learning how to manage aggro and improving your tank.

Thanks for the replies. I guess you are stating I have to skill/level up to be able to afford to tank properly and or have the firepower/drone capacity (ship and drone skills) to take out the ship warping and or webbing me.
Ok.

Well... yeah... if you want to be able to use a ship the way it's meant to be used, you've got to have it fit the way it's meant to be fit. You could always throw civilian gear on there and watch it die a fiery death in the first encounter you put it through, but that seems like a waste of time and isk.

Another way to avoid the webbing/scrambling is staying of of their range.
Normally those ships only have a 8-10 km web/scram range (stasis towers and those pesky spider drones being the exceptions) and if you fit weapons/ammo with longer than 10 km range (I use assault frigates with scorch/barrage but any midrange ammo will do) and keep them at a distance you can shoot them before they can use their EW.
And use an afterburner (no idea what ship you fly)!!

What the second poster said.
Webbing/scrambling frigs are killed by drones. If you are flying something that can¦t field 5 light drones, you can downgrade your guns to small ones, which can track fast frigs better. If we would know what your are flying and how fitted we might be able to help more.

Thanks again to all for the response. I apologize if my first reply to the original 2 comments sounded glib or disdainful...I didn't mean it to be.
I just realize that I have to get my skills up. Being a noob, I spent the first 6 weeks or so just getting skilled up in a broad fashion...so I did not specialize in anything...wanting to dip my feet into the different areas of the game.
I got podded in a level 1 mission, the Sisters of Eve, Burning the Hive...by being warped and or webbed. I lost in there 4 times...4 times podded. A tristan, 2 catalysts, and an Osprey.
I only made it through when I went in fleeted with a more experienced player...so I really did not make it through that mission. It surprised me that I had no problems getting through level 1 missions until that...and then it was near impossible.
So, I now have a Moa and a Caracal. Not sure I want to tackle a mission like the one I have in front of me called Human Cattle (4 of 5). I read that it is real tough and there is an intercepter there that will warp scramble me...and I think someone else mentioned I might also get webbed.
So, it is not a big deal. I am intneding to stop my Eve subscription until I finish reading a lot of the guides I have. I get very little time to devote to Eve and I now respect the learning curve...so I want to educate myself without paying the monthly price until I feel a bit more informed.
So thank all of you...I very much appreciate your sharing all this info.

EvE also rewards knowing what to do.
If you know what ship to target kill that first. Warp scramblers and webs are death for fast ships. But they have a very short range.
I would go in with a fast ship able to hit at 30+km and stay 20km away if possible and kill the warp scramblers first. Once thatĘs done you use your superior speed to keep yo out of range while you blast them away.
A heavy Missile launcher Caracal with an afterburner and a large shield extender would go a long ways for most lvl 1 and 2 missions.

Experience beats theoretical knowledge. In your caracal, fit assault launchers (not heavy assault or heavy missiles), read the eve-survival guide for your mission, and target the tackling frigs first. Assault missiles have pretty high DPS and are made for shooting frigs.
But I wouldn't let the sub lapse for the sake of reading guides instead (if you're going to let it lapse for other reasons, that's up to you.) The learning curve in EVE seems higher than it really is. There are plenty of little things people get hung up on, but that's a side effect of having a really complicated game with lots of different game mechanics. There's even a thread in General Discussion about people who've been playing since beta (and even devs) are learning game mechanics they never knew before.

Thanks for the tips on why to not let the subscription lapse...but right now my time is limited. Not many games work for me. I am a 62 year old oil painter (some acrylics) and the last few years have been pretty good ones. My commissions right now are backed up almost a year and thene there is time for the wife and to keep up the yard (in Hawaii everything grows and grows quickly). I have wanted something to take my mind off of the creative tasks that remain in my mind even while working in the yard, away from the canvases.
Eve is the FIRST game environment that has allowed me to suspend my disbelief and somewhat immerse into the experience. But I have fumbled around the entire time I have played Eve and it frustrates me to lose things because I don't know how to properly prepare a ship...even trying to decipher all the abbreviated terms used in the guides and forums take time for me to look them up. I often feel like a fish out of water.
I will definitely be back into the game...maybe a month or three to read and take notes and reflect what I read with my actual recollections in the game.
I will then join a corp like Eve Univ. Then I think it will be a more rewarding experience.
Thank you all again..and again. I am not leaving Eve...just a small hiatus...but I have another couple of weeks on my 3-month sign-up. I have enjoyed it...but at the same time I have the feeling I would enjoy it more had I a bit more knowledge.
you folks are great.

Don't hesitate. Seriously. E-Uni is a great place for topping up your Eve knowledge, whatever level your starting at. I would consider myself fairly well learned about most aspects of the game, but even I learn new things almost daily just from hanging around in their chat channels.

Looks like I have some work to do before I regain eligibility to join Eve-Uni. I turned down the interview a month or so age because they said they were going to war and I decided to wait.
Then I inadvertently picked up a mission that gave me a 0.16 neutral rating with the Wiyrkomi Corp and that blew me out of the park...now I have to gain a standing of 8 with that corp to be eligible again.
I get about .02 per mission in standing with them...so it will be quite a haul. But I am enjoying my time in Eve.

You can mitigate scramble specifically by having a couple warp core stabilizers.
Solutions that involve breaking their lock, killing them, etc, are generally better, though, since when you're not being scrammed that stabilizer is a waste of a low slot. ---
