Originally by: Revolution Rising I just got my first thanny, am considering different builds and whatnot for soloish and fleet both.
When flying solo (either travel or supporting gangs in area) - Would you fit more than 1 capital armor rep? Bother with a triage unit? What rigs should I fit for this?
When flying fleet triage/spider tanking - Do you still fit personal capital armor reps or completely rely on remote reps from others? which rigs again ?
Under which circumstances do you fit and use drone control units? (Just fill whatever highs you have left over with them I have assumed)
Thanks for any help RR

If I'm traveling, its normally in a group, so safety isn't TOO much of an issue. I fit a single DCU, and all cap rigs. Why? So I can jump within 60 seconds of landing. I typically "scout" with my Thanny for trains, the more heavily tanked/ganked carriers behind me will support me if (and so far its only happened once..) we get attacked.

Same question. I believe it was said before: 2 Reps == Triage 1 Rep == Normal Combat fit.

Always CCCs. T2 if you want to splurge. (Not recommended in this day and age sadly) Regardless of what you're doing. There is NO point to using trimarks on a carrier. You'll just get DD'd, no amount of tank will survive that. The extra few seconds provided against Fighter bomber blobs is not worth the jump recharge time. Either way, you're most likely dead.

Those are two separate setups, spider tanking and triage. Someone else said it better before..
ALWAYS have a local rep if you're going into a combat situation. You cannot rely on support from other carriers (unless its carrier/dread only, no SCs). SC and Titans take priority over you, always. If you're in a mixed fleet, and some SC decides to primary you.. you're gonna die. End of story. Sucks yes, but thats the state of current Cap fights.
Now in a Carrier/Dread only situation, Spider reps work. However your primary concern as a Thanny pilot is DPS. As said before, leave the heavy reps up to the Archons. Focus on that and you'll be fine.
--------------- This is what I use for Hotdrops/Carrier-Dread only fleets, ie, when I don't expect Super caps to show up and ruin our fun:
I move fluidly with the high slots, and with the CPR in the low (sometimes an additional Enam if the situation calls for it) The T2 rigs are from the pre-SC boost, hence they're still on there. If I ever lost my personal thanny, I'd replace them with T1. Depending on the situation, I sometimes drop a Cap recharger for an Omni, but thats pretty rare lately.

----------- For normal PvE duties, (since Im running out of room) I use all CPRs, one Rep, 2 Omnis, Cap rechargers, DCUs and a Probe launcher. Aka: My Radar fit. (Kept a Codebreaker/Analyzer for refits)
Hope this gives you a decent idea on how to fit your thanny...
