Exactly
Quoted For Emphasis the mwd changes SUCK
And as far as tech2/named mapc... #1 I cant get my hands on them at all... and #2... they would probably leave me cpu short instead of pg short... The changes need to be reversed, they unbalance the inties.

That said if you are that set on using the t2 mwd, fit a reactor control unit on one of the lows. Problem(?) sorted.
interceptors are hi tech ships

Okay. Now how I do I deal with my far lower cap recharge, given the inreased cap usage of the MWDII's in this patch ANYWAY?
Answers on a postcard please.
Then use an MWD I.....as has already been said, all the other T2 modules require higher fitting reqs, so why shouldn't this be extended to propulsion mods?
I was angry enough when they nerfed oversized ABs as it totally destroyed my Prophecy setup, but I didn't complain about it, I just trashed the Proph and bought a Scorp instead.
Having said that, I've not tried to fit a T2 MWD so I probably don't know what I'm talking about

Originally by: RollinDutchMasters I need to buy a crow. The MWD II change means its the fastest interceptor with decent weapons (yay for weapons which use 3 powergrid). The new velocity bonus means its the longest ranged interceptor, and the missiles intercept much better.
I use Caldari Rocket Launchers which don't use ANY pg

Originally by: Leyla Anshley well.. it seems lik devs really don't like interceptors... First was crow: after i lost ability to fit AB10 on it, i trained for crusader. but now it seems like crusader becoming same sux. i have used this setup for crusader: 2x Dual Light Pulse Laser II's 2x Dual Modulated Pulse Lasers in high, MWD II and named warp scrambler 20 km in med, small armor rep II, 2x named Caprelays and Heat Sink II in low. PG was 50/50 and CPU was 124/125. But today after patch i have found, that MWD II now need 18 MW... and i don't have 3 PG for this setup now. I tried to replace armor rep II for named one tech I, but anyway don't have 1MW... if i'll try to fit Micro Aux Core, i don't have CPU then. and now i want to ask: why? Why i can't fit tech II now? for what? Use tech I? nah.. thanx. I feel like i'm degenerating myself... BTW: inters was allways my favorite ships... and now i'm despleasing with all these changings.
Remove the armor rep from your setup. You won't have the cap to run it in combat anyway and just ask one of your caldari buddies in a crow to bring a remote armor repper to the scene :) ------------------------------------------ I am a love machine, feeding my fantasy, give me a kiss or three, have fun!

I just noticed today they've reduced the powergrid requirements on the MWD II to 17.
I could turn my third laser on :D.

I would understand on a Tech 1 ship. I would also understand if it ALWAYS had been the same, but I HATE IT when stuff gets nerfed without any reason...
Erm, you can use all T2 stuff on a T2 ship........
Jarmon could be right, the nOOb However those blasters you advised Jarmon suck big hairy balls

U have your 1pg back
good decision btw....from 15-18 was to much...17 is perfect!

Right, so the real question remaining is -- why did this change also need to affect the faction/high-end MWD's. In the past modules like a 1mn domination MWD were priced at hundreds of millions simply because their power requirements were actually lower than a tech1 MWD. The whole advantage of owning those modules was their reduced grid and above-average output. Things like the gistii were ridiculously high in grid, but their output was also up by over 150%, so both offered considerable trade-offs and were balanced in that sense. As of now, the high-end faction MWD's are simply rendered useless. Their grid requirements as as high as a TechII, their output is only 25% superior and their availability is close to nill, rendering them a not-only-expensive, but also a quite-useless item, which the universe is currently awash in.
I do not mean to whine, nor make it a 'the developers are hating us' style of post as it originally began with. The simple truth here is that pre-patch economy and balance of microwarp drives made a lot of sense in the following way:
(base tech 1 - cheap, common, expendable. 15 grid) (base tech 2 - higher output, higher skill, price between 500k-2.5m, considerably more available. also 15, but higher cpu.) (catalyzed arcjet - 15 grid as well, about on the same level as tech2 due to lower CPU requirements, decent thrust and relatively common availability at around 1-3m.) (gistii 1-mn - CONSIDERABLY improved over cold gas or II, 18 grid requirement. Somewhat more rare, priced at between 30-60 mill.) (domination/minmatar navy - 12 grid requirement. 25% thrust improvement over tech II and lower cap consumption, but nowhere near the gistii.. extremely rare and valued over 100 mill)
This whole thing worked out very well because, like I said, efficiency, value and availability of each module type was balanced against eachother in a way where each type of 1mn MWD had considerable reason for using it.
