Looking into this as a matter of urgency.

Edited by: Redundancy on 02/02/2005 13:58:19 I'm evaluating a possible fix for this. Will try and keep you as updated as possible.
This is not related to drivers, or defragging, and I expect you need turrets fitted on your ship to see any effect. The more Repairers and armour hardeners you have fitted, the worse this is going to be.

Originally by: Mithrindar Last nightI had the same problem using a raven with shield hardeners during a lvl 3 pirates extravaganza. the game went into jerk-o-vision with a gurista wall in particular showing artifacts and dissapearing. logged off then back on and the problem went away. first time it's happened to me though.
Shield hardeners use completely different code, so if there's a connection, it's not the one you'd first think of.

The server side fix we have for this (which seems to be working) should go onto TQ during downtime.

He probably logged on immediately after the reboot, but before the fix had been enabled. It had to be specifically turned on.

Completely impossible to speculate without a log

Originally by: Jamius There is a lag problem outwith armour hardeners. Both me and a freind lost our ships in the same npc rat fight last night because of lag. I started fighting 1st and I had no hardeners or repairers of any type fitted. The moment I fired my guns (blasters or rockets) I start getting 1 frame every 15 secs or so. I knew I was in trouble so called a freind in to help me and the moment he fired the same thing happened. I got blown up and the lag was gone and I got to watch him get blown up too.
Unfortunately, without a log, and without an idea of how to reproduce the problem, I can't do much.
