My miner isn't available in high-sec BUT I really wish that this was available when I was a lone miner in high-sec. This service seems awesome... taking the price for the ore and dropping it slightly to cover your cost of hauling. I might try and get with you to do a low-sec op with a rorqual at a pos, 1 jump from a high-sec system with a station. I'd love to give newer miners the ability to mine better-than high-sec ore with even better boosts and having the choice to gate to high sec if things go south.

Last weekend's op pulled in over 1 million m3 of various ores and the miners were paid out over 80million isk in total.

Ive 3 days left until i finish the Mining Director skill at 5, then im wanting to make similar OPs like this in Molden Heath and/or Heimatar. EvE-Mail me when you are interested, will most likely start at around 18 EvE time.

Sounds like you have an idea that is beneficial to the miners as well as to you. Good job.
I've got a spare Orca pilot in the Domain genesis area that I might try this with.
Two things:
1. How did you get started? I mean putting together your first few mining groups.
2. How did you calculate the price you pay for the ore?
Also, do you use a hauler, or haul with the Orca? I have a 'no boost' Orca pilot in the oven right now. I'd like to experiment with him for a bit before I start his max boost training.

As a non-miner, I have to say that this looks like something that should spawn a corp, if not an alliance. With this much common interest, you could significantly increase your effectiveness by a little structure, maybe bringing in some haulers as well.

1. Created a mailing list and went to a fairly active system and announcing my intention in Local. Advertised the idea and the price I was buying at.
2. Opened up the local market, did a weighted average of the sell price of the ores I expected to be putting in my hold. In the first case it was something like 4:1.5:0.5 for veld:scord:pyrox. Ended up being around 17 ISK per unit when I factored in my "boosting" fee.

There is no need for a hauler with an Orca. You set your Orca to allow people in your fleet to dock, and they just place the ores directly into your corporate hold. As they drop in can loads, you pay out and place the ores into either your cargo hold or your ore hold, or simply put it in another corp hangar division. If the area is quiet, you can consider letting them fill full jet cans and then tractoring them in so you can pop them.
If and when they fill all the space available, warp to a station, offload, and then head back.

Well, the reason I like these ops is because it allows me to remain in my own corp.

Open public ops are also more-or-less immune to Wardecs. Any miner currently at War is asked to stay away and any can flippers only agress the owning player as opposed to the entire fleet.
It seems to work rather well.

Still running those operations in Caldari Space? I fly a Covetor and I'm looking to increase my cash flow from mining. Also, does anyone have any favorite high/mid security systems they like to base their mining operations from?
