Those people point out that by varying these periods of extended DT (or even, if they wanted to be really revolutionary, regular DT) by as little as a couple of hours or so, preferably into around 8-9.00am UK-time, there would be little impact to either CCP work-patterns or anyone else's playtime. They might even settle for a 'moving DT'  .
They also point out the huge hypocrisy present when a selection of internet hardmen turn up on the forums and tell Asia to harden up about DT but when there's a major snafu and CCP lose a whole day we have 20-30 page *****-fests full of gnashing of hands and wringing of teeth.
Now CCP and any other business with the slightest regard for its bottom line know that Asia is utlimately where its at for them, its inevitable and unless they move away from the single game universe approach, EvE will have to consider Asia a little more carefully than they do now.
CCP China server is relatively poorly populated because Chinese consumers don't have to settle for second best anymore and they know when they're being offered an inferior product and they are.
The hypothetical point was and still is, that if and probably when CCP start to pitch 'our' eve at Asia with more commitment than they do at present, then quite a few things, DT amongst them will be looked at.
Best-case scenario is that we don't have DT (unlikely) or that if we do, CCP learn to keep a lid on the eruption of total failure that ensues when they do their patches thereby ensuring that no-one is ****ed off and everyone, even you, are kept happy.
So not many people, least of all me, are threatening to quit/biomass/demand free SP or monetary compensation but we do think that moving DT forward by a couple of hours might be nice and not really upset anyone else too much and provide CCP with a greater appeal around these parts.
This is just my opinion of course and it won't change when I move back to the UK in the next 3-5 years either.
And as far as reality goes, I believe you mentioned little green men landing and the planet doing something interesting.

Seriously, there are only like a dozen people playing EVE from Australia and two in New Zealand, presumably it is just you guys making these same threads again and again. I assume you would've told each other that you've each made a thread on this subject now?

That is a pretty dumb post you did there.
Back on topic, the OP was talking about moving the EXTENDED DOWN TIME around a *BIT*. I hope you all understand what a BIT means? It can also mean a little.
In this case, i agree with the OP. Having an extended DT starting an hour early is really annoying. For the eastern states, it happens at 9PM, with usual DT happening at 10PM.
Could the extended DT be started at 10pm instead? for New Zelanders, that would be midnight. for the UK, that would be 11am. for Iceland that would be about 9am?
Do it during the week so most of the UK player base are out working/chavving.
Having it *right* in the middle of our TZ, right after when we have gotten home from work, fed the kids and put them to bed, IS annoying. An hour later? Absolutely fine.
