This morning my gf caused me to die by destracting me on the phone, making me think my destravalger was actually my battlecruiser and causing me to be locked down and deshipped. This is the second time, mostly because 'hang on from your important point, I need to concentrate on my computer game' does not make for a happy relationship...
So, who holds the record for partner caused destruction?

Not partner related but I've lost a ship due to a HUGE HAIRY SPIDER RUNNING ACROSS MY DESK.
I literally launched myself and the chair away from the computer at mach 5 then stood on the chair shaking like one of those cartoon elephants when it sees a mouse.
I do not like spiders

Never. Yay for being able to shift your attention really fast from place to place.
And if she's doing something really disturbing, I just dock up / warp to a SS and cloak / warp to a pos, etc :)

After I explained the relationship between isk for plex and $$$ for plex, meaning there's an intrinsic (albeit elusive) value of isk as measured in realworld currency, and told her about how expensive the ships i fly in missions and pvp are, she always insists on me docking up before doing something for her, lol 
But yeah, before then I've lost a few, rather expensive, ships to her distractions

The times I have thought of installing the computer in the crapper because of dire need and the innability to drop the game in an instant. Sometimes it can take up to 15 minutes before I can safely go afk and at that point let no woman,child or family pet stand in my way. When the goldfish got sick my wife gave me a filthy look and moved the bowl away from my computer;)

Oh yes..... That happened to me more than once. One of the last ships I lost was because our oldest daughter managed to collapse the internet connection by having two (!) browser games open, chatting on MSN and Hyves at the same time while watching something on You tube....
And of course, very teenage like, putting tha blame on me because I was playing a game so she didn't have the bandwidth......
My wife just asks me to dock or warp to a safe. That's ok with me, RL goes before game in my book. |

My kids have cost me a few billion in ships on my accounts. I would drop the game and do something needed and come back and say 'omg why didnt I activate tank'. There was also when the game booted me and I logged on and came back to a pod because straight after logging on I went afk cus of them.
But meh, its a game.

A while ago my wife was pestering me to do something or other and I ended up placing a region wide buy order (intended) that happened to contain an extra zero, as in buying plagioclase for around 250.00 each not 25.00 (not intended!!), had to wait for the 5 minute counter to finish while I was watching my bank account implode.
On the upside though, I have figured out how to emergency give isk to my alt if needed to.  |

Not much. 2 Covops (fck forgot to cloak before GF-attention-afk); some haulers (forgot to dock up) and assorted t1 ships. Drakes mostly, afair.
She tried eve a time ago...and then, suddenly my GF-ship losses stopped.
Now, it is like this:

If I may interject with a corrolary? This is precisely what alts are for. When you're looking for a little "personal attention" boot up the alt at an opportune moment, just when you can see her about to start looking for attention. When she eventually hits you with the time honoured "Is that game more important than me....?". You counter with an "of course not darling!!" followed by a "stupid internet spaceships.....there see I've blown it up!". Finally lay down your best lines and invite her to a game of trouser tennis.
Later, when she's ordering the pizza you will be free to boot the pc back up.
NB... This is guaranteed to work...every time.

I misclicked (she was jabbering in my ear) my bookmark list while flying a brand new Revelation (still had the new Dread smell), I came back an hour later to see 45% hull left at the enemy POS we were planning to siege a few hours later. Thank god for small guns (The POS guns fracktard). I learned to manage Woman Aggro quickly after that.

Girlfriend slips off the long coat, revealing the naughty little number she just bought for my pleasure.
Now, normally when she'd come over I would finish what I was doing and dock up. I did not...and being a big fan of a nowhere-near-capstable nightmare....
The real funny bit is that I saw the pod/wreck from the bed, but at no time during that afternoon did it occur to me to leave the bed to salvage what I could of the wreck. = )
No regrets though.

Never lost a ship to my better half... very nearly lost a deadspace fit CNR to cat based shenanigans though.
My GF is really good about EVE, she watches me play now and then and 'gets' the game so she waits till I'm docked/cloaked before I get the orders to do <insert task>.

I'm actually very good at multi-tasking, helps to run ships with cloaks.
I do, however, often run maintenance for my building, and I do tend to mission for income to buy those cloaky ships. So I've lost more dominixes (domini?) to a knock on the door followed by a shouted "hey, Lost, my sink is exploding!" than probably anything else in the game.
EDIT: Actually, losses to urgent maintenance issues probably still runs second to falling asleep while missioning, soloing 4s is kinda... bleh.

Never lost a ship because of my wife. In fact, she's usually on the same roam i am.
She plays EvE on a second computer, right next to mine, that i made especially for her.
She will even bring me a coffee or lunch on the weekend when i'm in the middle of FCing a roam. (She knows i can't just up and leave.)
I am sooooo lucky!

When the wife and I originally hooked up, I got her an EVE account. Got her into mining, and doing some missions. I had one of my alts suicide gank her mining ship, and another pod her. She never found out the 'criminal jerks' were really me. She quit playing shortly after as she felt the game was 'too mean' for her taste, but now she rarely disturbs me when I am playing unless it is something that is really important. She knows what can happen to me if I don't have the time to safe up or dock.
