Am I the only person in EVE who has drones that behave correctly? Well anyway, I will share my secrets in my new pamphlet, "The Green Beans' Guide To Purchasing, Using, and Caring for Automated Fighters (Drones)"
Chapter 1 Purchasing your Drone
In most, if not all, space stations have a market service. Open up the market service by clicking either the market box on the station services panel, or the market button on your neocom. Once you have it open, go to "search" and type in "Hobgoblin". The Hobgoblin is the favorite tech level 1 light scout drone of many people. Buy as many of these as desired, and then drag and drop the Hobgoblins into your ship's drone bay.
Chapter 2 Drones for Fighting
Drones are excellent assistants in a battle. Thankfully, using them is as simple as making a few clicks. First, be somewhere where you can shoot stuff. Next, find the drone bay panel on your HUD. If you have drones in your drone bay the panel will always be up somewhere. Next, right click the "Drones in Bay" button, and click "launch drones". Your drones will now be orbiting your ship! After that, lock onto your victim, and then right click "Drones in Space" (right below "Drones in Bay") and click "Engage Target". Watch your drones fly!* When you are done terrorizing your victim, right click "Drones in Space" and click "Return to Drone Bay". Your drones will return to you to fight another day.
*Tips and Tricks: You will have to use a stern voice or your drones might not listen to you! They are like children!
Chapter 3 Caring for your Drones
During your epic battle, your beloved drones might have sustained a few dings or dents, or might be missing a good chunk of armor. Have no fear! Simply return to a station, click the "Repair Shop" button on the station services panel, and click the drones you want to repair. Good as new!
Chapter 4 Enhancing your Drones
There are a variety of equipments for your ship that enhance your drones! Most of them are rigs that enhance drone damage, speed, or total hitpoints. There is also the Drone Link Augmenter module that increases the range that you can control your drones from. Groovy!

I never have a problem with my drones. Maybe your drones don't like you...? When I put the pack of toilet paper and-áa couple of-átwo liters-áof soda on the checkout counter, the cashier looked at me funny.-á I shrugged and told her I get thirsty sometimes when I poop. |

Can I have your stuff? What a strange game. The only winning move is not to play. |

Actually, this probably hit the mark on most of the "features' of EVE. Realism often can be found in things simulating real life, and the last time I looked there is nothing produced by humans that is perfect every time. Not sure if that is supposed to have changed in a few hundred thousand years of human evolution or whatever timeframe EVE exists. But seems having the sandbox and "eating your cake" do not quite fit together.
Though, one of the problems with literally thousands of game features is the coding errors will be that much harder to find in all that extra code. Every time another person rage quits, that means less income CCP has to work with. Just does not add up... something's got to give. I would think until subscriptions increase again, you may want to say goodbye to your last hope drones or any other broken feature will ever get fixed by CCP.
I personally feel EVE is dead or soon will be... unless CCP can come up with some tremendous idea to fix everything like yesterday and somehow reverse the slow and steady onslaught of un-subs. |
