yes.
anyone tried 3 screens as in TRIPLE BOXING?
I use dual screens but I've triple boxed a covt ops scout on many occasions. In facvt I sometime make first tackle with the scout as I use a cvt ops with AB and dual TD's with a point.
Typically this is very rare though as it's a real pita to keep track of everything and it's cost me a cvt ops a few time now.
Most of the time if I alt scout I just leave it in a system semi afk if I'm already dual boxing 2 combat ships and just use it when I think I might be getting trapped.

3 screens. 2 PC's. Main PC has buffer BC and RR BS to back the BC up.
Laptop has the Covert Op scout.
2 active is tough enough. I might be able to run 3 but I don't find myself sober enough for such activities.

Yes, for PvE I sometimes use up to five at a time (one boosting so little attention needed), but I try to limit it to two clients in PvP, though sometimes if no corpies with suitable ships are around I use three or four. Usually the third is a HIC or something where it mainly just needs to use the bubble or infinipoint some peeps, and nothing else.
You always gotta remember that your capabilities as a player, drop dramatically for every client you add. Sometimes with four accounts involved, I have almost no idea what's going on, as all my attention is spent on getting each account to do the one task I had planned for them pre-engagement, or in contingency plans. So if situation changes a lot to something unexpected, I'm screwed.
Dualboxing isn't too bad, I reckon if they're not reaction critical roles then you can have them at 80% efficiency, to give a rough number mostly pulled out of a hat. Third client would drop it to say 40%, while fourth client puts you at 10%, removing pretty much all situational awareness except brief glimpses every now and again. This doesn't include boosting alts or passive covops of course, roles that need no interaction.

I mostly dualbox when ratting, but l have had success with a cynabal/paladin setup in pvp, but tbh l only used it at the time because l had to get both toons out of the area at once or be stuck there with one of my best ships.

Have fun... do whatever you like to do... IT's a game! people getting all judgmental over a person using more than 1 account is truly pathetic.
If you're not capable of microing more than one account or don't have the Iskies or $$s to have more than 1 account just man up and say it! otherwise just get some friends and blob him, if he's running more than 2 accounts he'll most likely get his face blown up and your gang will have gotten a few easy kills.
Also... aren't you worse off if they aren't alts? If it's 3 separate guys shooting at you the chances that they screw up and let you go are minimal... If someone is Tri-Boxing them you're chances of pulling a fast one on him are way up. There's always a tradeoff, and the amount of people that can run multiple clients in PvP effectively is very low, I don't believe for a second that it ruins your solo PvP all by it's lonesome, Pretty sure cooperation between players gets you killed more often than someone trying to fly multiple accounts.
As for the topic at hand, less micro is always better, I've been known to fly my alt's harbinger and my other alts hurricane both at once, they're almost fire and forget and that's what you want if you want to dual box effectively, it'll give you more "processing power" to watch for things you didn't/can't predict.

Falcon with 6 jammers/mwd/expand prob launcher + your main ship is so nice!, he can cloak and whatnot, and if you about to get blobbed need a fast jam out, hes it, because lets be honest if you fly solo without a scout/backup, unless you do it in a intercepter than you are taking a big risk, I know some ppl say well just fly BC's, well tbh I do not like BC's, and when I fight a BC 1vs1 in a HAC or something I bring in my falcon even if im going to win. Because lets be honest BC's> Hacs in every way with 1/5th of the cost.

First of all, EVE is very friendly to multi account play. If you get graphics really low, you can use 4 clients in a standard PC. I usually team up with a friend both using 3 accounts. Mining is the home of "multiboxing" players, but in combat you have to think strategies and tactics well, and I would advice to train it before with friends or other alts. Alt Tab is a shortcut you will like to avoid when using more than 2 accounts, because odds are in some occasion it will alternate to other than the expected window or get time consuming when you lose focus. The best thing for more than 2 is to display label and alternate by mouse or window specific shortcut. Trying to order the accounts when opening EVE in a sequence you aways use is also good, so you can switch without needing to pay that much attention. There are tons of passive modules to fit that makes easier to handle alts in combat. Usually, you will want your alt to be in a position it will be cicling a lot, and using passive tanking. In that regard, leadership skills and modules are there for you. One thing that helps a lot if you really want to cut edge in "multi box management" is to get yourself programmable keyboards like G19, in which you can put up shortcuts handling the switching, and studying your SO (windows, macos) shortcuts, you literally control your alt without needing to look at its window. This will allow you to use much less passive modules, and add much more versatility to your alt.
Keep in mind tho, that "fair fights", like your 3 alts against 3 human pilots, is kinda suicide unless your 3 opponents arent worthy 2 good players.

Falcon with probes and racials on one guy.
Pilgrim on the other.
The best combo for small scale PvP in my opinion. Pilgrim can kill almost anything in time and if they are jammed out they will not break your tank or kill your drones. Am I right or am I right?

Sounds boring TBH. Jam, neut and wait for drones, you must love your "peeveepee"

Edited by: Torothin on 23/05/2011 12:50:09 Name me another combo that is more effective. There isn't one. One time I took ON a Broadsword and Tengu with this setup. It's pretty sick.

Oh I know. I want a little bit of excitement (at least) and that won't do it as its pure win without risk.
Edit - the ability to cycle jam/neut/tank well, all you need is a damp to complete it. Not my thing matey, best of luck to you though :)

You can always use a maelstrom with a blue pill and some LG crystals (pill does the most of the work) and warp it in first to get initial attention then warp that abaddon on them, naturally.

Seriously, do you think anyone is going to tell the universe about their best tricks for dual, triple, quad boxing? NO
Only tip I will give is simple: GET 2 MONITORS and not some poxy 19", a couple of 22-24" 16:10 / 16:9
p.s. And for the best duo, Bah humbug.

Why didnt you fit t2 trimarks and imperial navy guns + drones with your already ridiculously expensive buffer bs with no way to rep?
