Can we please have items sort by type by DEFAULT. I've always had my items sorted by type since I began playing EVE. Sorting by type already sorts by name and it groups items together. If I want ammo, I would look there; if I want MWDs I would look at another spot; Armor hardners - they would be found in another spot; etc.
Sorting by name and the new 'quantity' are pointless. Sorting by type was the way to go and it gets tiresome to keep sorting by type when you look into your hangar and cargohold.

err... maybe I missed something here, but when you switch to list view and sort by group it will sort by type/group and remember that setting.

Perfect example, where new features (sort by quantity), brought in a new bug, were no one will ever use this sorttyps. Only sort by typs makes sense in any occassions.

Leave it by name - it makes so much sense to have all the named kit starting ' at the front then the normal stuff down the list in small, medium, large etc. varieties, and things like cans sorted by the typename not their set name. Can't you all *see* this?!

afaik the sort by name was a bug introdused in last patch, now instead of fixing the bug they introdused more sort orders , but leaving the "sort by name after refresh bug", great work ccp

Its just like CP to introduce new features and break something. If this is what happens when CCP tampers with their own code on something as simple as hanger item sorts, can you imagine what will happen when CCP tries to do something major? Bah.
I own a business and I employ a small number of people to work for me. If one of my people makes a mistake like this, I would drive that person hard to fix it, then drive that person out.

Signed. With nearly 500 items in my main hangar it was shocking the first time I logged on post-patch and saw stuff everywhere instead of my BP's nice and orderly on top.
Then it moved to aggravating having to resort them each time I open the hangar.

yes. give us the option to choose a default. then put the other options in another nested menu so it reduces clutter (don't need to see the other options all the time). then replace the REFRESH command and bind the default that we select to it. so all we have to do is hit refresh once we choose the default sort type...
there is a fine, but dissasterous line between a fart and a shart. i suggest you make sure which side you want to be on... |

Can we please have items sort by type by DEFAULT. I've always had my items sorted by type since I began playing EVE. Sorting by type already sorts by name and it groups items together. If I want ammo, I would look there; if I want MWDs I would look at another spot; Armor hardners - they would be found in another spot; etc.
Sorting by name and the new 'quantity' are pointless. Sorting by type was the way to go and it gets tiresome to keep sorting by type when you look into your hangar and cargohold.

I dunno about gamebreaking, but it's getting to the point where it's mind-breaking, or even chair-breaking. Maybe family-breaking if said family unit is stressed enough and all members of it play EVE. A long shot, but possible.

I just thought of another spiceup enhancement, that would be easier to maintain:
*NERF OF THE DAY*
every day something is nerfed for 24 hrs, no one know what, until after the 24hrs.
Might be caprelays, t2 pulse lasers, mining lasers etc.
even the paranoid has real enemies...
