On behalf of Nordic Freelancer's inc I send my sympathy and condolances to your corp and his wife and daughter.
I did not know him, I just did read about this on the forum and it is always sad when someone dies.
I know first hand how it is to grow up without a dad my dad died when I was 14 and it was hard but I knew he was dying as he was sick for a long time ahead, you and his family never had that and ofcourse it will hurt even more as it came so sudden.
On behalf of Nordic Freelancers inc.

My thoughts are with his family and friends.
I know that the driver will have to live with this for the rest of his life, but 3 1/2 years is a joke.
Which PA character are you?

Originally by: Valdi I see how u are all despising the drunk driver, ofcorse it¦s not wise to drive drunk, but i know that the poor man who hit Rampage did not do that cause he wanted to, i¦ve seen what happends to man after he hits someone and kills him. The poor man deserves no less sympathy then Ramp's famely. R.I.P. Rampage, may you go with angels.
Sympathy for the driver??? Well the minute an intoxicated person starts up his/her vehicle and drives off they know the risk they are running and they are being selfish. I for one have no sympathy for somebody who knowingly drives while they are impaired, and just want to get from point a to point b. That driver could have just as easily called a cab, friend, family member to come get them. Or better yet slept in the car till they were sober enough to drive.
It's very sad that Rampage and his family have to suffer the consequences of some idiot who decided to drive when they should not have.
I hope this opens the eyes of some folks who may be on these boreds that drink and drive.
May god bless Rampage's soul and family through these hard times.
The driver, he/she will have their day in court and they get to live with the fact they are responible for taking away somebodys husband, father, friend and game mate. I hope that guilt eats away at that person while they sit in jail and for the rest of their living days.
"Come on God. Answer me. For years I am asking you why. Why are the innocent dead and the guilty alive? Where is justice? Where is punishment? Or have you already answered? Have you already said to the world, here is justice, here is punishment, here..............in me"

Edited by: Graffix on 07/02/2005 08:50:24 I was informed of Andrews death Thursday by email, which I only got around to checking earlier today. I have been distraught and crying all day. I missed the ceremony in DSS and feel terrible that I'm a slacker with my email. I've just watched the windows media movie in his memory and I'm absolutely touched and still crying. Thank you SE. I did not know Andrew in real life, but the time we talked in game, out of game and on TS, I almost did. The only thing keeping me from knowing him in RL was distance. I only knew Andrew over a year and a half but in that time I looked up to him as an older brother and loved the man. Now I just wish I told him that. I find myself scrolling through old emails he sent, ones where he sent pictures of his beautiful new house and how excited he was about being able to move in. I now cherrish the moments he shared with me, in the short time we knew each other.
Andrew had GREAT leadership characteristics. As a true leader, Andrew guided SGE, he did not rule us. He had a strong sense of vision, passion and was able to get people to commit 100% and take the necessary action to see that vision become a reality. He exceled in the art of communication and motivation. He gave allies and foes alike the mutual respect they deserved, and within the corporation he instilled confidence and enthusiasm in us all, and day in and out Andrew showed credibility and integrity on a consistent basis. I admired him dearly. I now feel terrible for taking a leave of absence from EvE to play WoW for the past month. I now have such a huge void when I do login knowing I'll never talk to Andrew again and it breaks my heart.
Andrew was not only a leader, but a father, who talked so highly of his daughter and how he played games and watched movies with her often. He got the name "Rampage" from playing unreal tournament with her, and always said she kicked everyones butts in the servers they joined. It gave him great pleasure when they played and spent time together. She did play eve for a shortwhile as well. His daughter and wife will be in my thoughts daily. I will never forget this man. He was that special to me and many of us. I can only emagine how special he was to those he was closest to. Ramp, Andrew...I love you bro and I will miss you dearly.

Although I never know Rampage nor encountered him in game, I would like to express my deepest condolences to his family.
When God walks in his garden, it is the most vibrant bloom that catches His eye. Though we may never fanthom His purpose, in His wisdom we entrust our souls.
Rampage has moved on to a better place. For the rest of us still in this mortal world, may we strive to be as deserving as him.

Please exept my deepest sympathies. Rampage was a great man. I had the privilage of calling him freind (he even asked me to put this in my bio so that his allaince wouldn't kill me on sight). We happend to be on oppisite sides of conflicts on several occasions, yet when we engaged in combat it was for enjoyment and always part of the game. Rampage was an extremely honorable man and I have a great respect for him. I am mourning with all others mourning due to his untimely departure.

Every day we meet people we beleive we can do with out. Then there are people like Rampage.
I never had the honour of meeting him in game nor in life, but from the posts in this thread it seemed like he was the type of guy that you felt better by just being around.
'Tis a shame that many of us had to hear about him like this.
Rest in Peace, Rampage. An entire world shall remember you.

Edited by: Lady Rainier on 09/02/2005 21:42:53 I am writing this letter in response to the February 3rd death of Andrew Lance. I met Andrew ten months ago online in a game called EVE. In July of 2004 I had the pleasure of meeting him when I went home to Washington to see my family. He lived about two hours from some of my family I was staying with so I decided to meet him. He was very charismatic and just bubbled with joy at showing me what he did at Westport. I sat in his office and watched him deal with the issues and concerns of his job and I was amazed at how he handled them. It was much the same online as well. Those of us who played online with him knew him as Rampage and he touched all of us with the same charisma, love and humor he had at work. He derived his joy in life from bringing joy to others. He had such a great outlook on life and would always try to cheer you up . Many times I can remember him getting after me for being depressed about something or as he put it 'being wussy'. Not only did he touch the lives of those he worked with but also those half a world away in an online game where no one can see your face. I remember when he bought his house and I asked him why he needed such a big garage. He said 'well my daughter is going to be driving in four years'. He spoke of his daughter often and was very proud of her. He will be missed for a long time to come both in-game and to his friends and family. I feel very blessed to have gotten to know him over the past ten months and although it was cut short by such a tragedy I know to all those who loved him and whom he loved he will forever be watching them. Monica Bynum Aviation Ordnanceman Third Class NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA United States Navy
this is a letter i wrote to the editor of the daily world in washington. i wanted them to know the full extent of his impact on people even half a world away. i am still shocked at this tragedy and it will be a long time coming when it doesnt hurt to see his picture.

Edited by: SGE Predator on 09/02/2005 06:51:05 Nice Lady. I've composed a letter to the drunk driver. My first draft was full of anger, and I have decided to hold off sending it. I must say though after writing this letter it relieved A LOT of my anger and mourning pain. I've edited it somewhat but still very direct with some very strong comments. I'm sure he's full of guilt and remorse, he damn well better be but I wanted to let him know just how I and many of us felt.
Andrew's wife was very forgiving, I wish I could be, perhaps I should be. It's why I havn't sent it yet. Towards the end of the letter I am for I'm sure he feels terrible but I wanted to show that his selfishness and stupidity affected a lot of people. I showed some corpmates the 1st draft and they said I should mail it, but I'm waiting to talk to some other people first.
I might after talking to a lot more members post the letter here. If the corp still wants me to send it I'll put it here on this topic to get other peoples opinions, mainly from those who were fortunate to know or fly with Andrew in game, mostly SE members but allies and foes alike. Even those who arn't. The point of posting it here is b/c at the end of the letter I was going to add peoples real names, and hopefully generate a long list to drive the letters message accross.

I want to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends. I had the pleasure of flying with him in his covert ops frig and me in mine a few months back. We had good fun and will never forget the excitement on Teamspeak and in-game when the action started.
Farewell to a father figure to me and good friend.
