The Machariel can fit 1400mm Artillery with the same fit. - The Machariel has a higher drone bay than the Vargur. ( 125m^3 vs 75m^3 ). Means you can place only 5 medium drones and 5 light drones in Vargur. - The Vargur does have a higher damage multiplier and a better tracking than the Machariel and the same rate of fire. - The Vargur boosts more, so you can put in Shield Boost Amplifier's place a Tracking Computer, Sensor Booster, Target Painter etc - The Vargur has 3 high "utility slots" , you can fit a cloak, salvage, tractor, remote armor rep. - The Vargur can tank better than the Machariel ( more mid slots ) I, for one, I'd go with the Vargur: cheaper, some better stats, few minor advantages. If you can spend a good amount on mid slots for a mach. I'd say gist c x-large shield booster and core-x ab but I'm sure you can spend much less and still get good stuff. This is more than enough for blockade with almost full aggro. Fit 3 hardeners, a SBA is not as effective especially when your dealing with em dmg. The vargur is better when you consider sniping frigs before they get in range and salvaging as you mish (carebear needs).
