Um, you never read the description of the t3 cruisers, huh?
Sategic Cruiser Skill Bonus: 5% Reduction in the amount of heat damage absorbed by modules per level.
It means you can overheat stuff for more massive damage, better shielding, etc ... Thermodynamics. __

You've said nothing about boosting T3s, only about making the skill useful. Since balanced is determined using max skills, your example of reducing SP loss means that unless you've trained the skill to V you would lose more SP than you currently do now. Hooray for mindless timesinks!

good job, you've quoted the bonus associated with a subsystem and the subsystem's skill... :-/
now, as to the actual strategic cruiser skill...

good, cuz i'm not trying to boost t3s per se, also you complain about mindless timesinks, how about the fact that training racial strategic cruiser skill beyond lvl I currently IS a time/sp sink?
since you lose skillpoints in the subsystem skills if/when your t3 ship is destroyed, a sensible reward for training racial strategic cruiser skill would be a modest reduction in the amount of skillpoints lost in that event...
I'm trying to create some worth in training the racial strategic skill beyond level I, figure it out and get on board...

Oook. Poof went your credibility about all things T3 related.
So let's repeat that before you give us more to laugh at: have you ever read the description of a T3 cruiser?
ôCaldari Strategic Cruiser Skill Bonus: 5% Reduction in the amount of heat damage absorbed by modules per level.ö
Please note the bolded part. Soà yeahà The skill is already useful. What did you want again? ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

I would prefer not to lose skills when the ship blows up. It's already time sink to obtain and then replace.

fine, so not only do we have a subsystem that reduces heat damage to modules per level of subsystem skill, we also have an inherent bonus in each cruiser that does the same thing...
if we want to duplicate things great, a reduction in the skillpoints lost per level of racial strategic cruiser skill would still be pretty useful, eat me

As it happens, being able to overheat more stuff for longer reduces the chance that you'll lose skill points. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

The ability to overheat for a whole rack for almost double the amount of time is a huge advantage in PvP, if you do not think that that is useful you are not familiar with PvP. Overheating quite often means the difference between victory and defeat in one on one fights and being able to over head a set of hardeners for 6 minutes compared to 3 minutes is an amazing difference in a fleet fight as it is unlikely the enemy will shoot you that long.

If you are losing t3 to the point where you are going "man, got to train offensive sub 5 again"....you need the full training time to reflect on wtf you are doing wrong to lose so many t3's. If its pvp...gratz, eve's rule of do not fly what you can't afford to lose does not only mean ships, impants and isk. Protip: do what everyone else does with thier command subb'ed t3...sit in safe pos or find a nice hidden safe spot. It will live muuuuuch longer while still giving out bonuses. YOu are there to boost...not km ho.
Want to gte camp in tengu...another free protip: get the 5% rof implant and 5% damage implant. About 300 mil total. add 60 mil for drake. 360 mil loss if popped that doens't have sp lost. And just as effective as t3 damn near and cheap as hell (2 drakes, 2 pods still comes under pirce of 1 tengu crap fit). Fill in your racial BC and damage implant for the weapon the t3 and bc gets boosted per level ofc.
