I would like advice on how to set up a barren planet. I am looking for advice on what to harvest. I have no clue what I should be making. My cycle times are 10hours. Please give advice in accordance to this if you can. But if you believe there is a better cycle time, let me know. It cannot be lower than 7hrs though.

There are probably a couple of P2 items you can make on a barren planet from scratch. Look these up on a PI guide, then pick the one that is more profitable.

I can recommend the EVE Uni wiki. As for the market research, however, that's what you'll have to do yourself (since it also depends on how much of each resource you can harvest from your planet).

http://www.thonky.com/eve-online-guide/planetary-interaction.php this is a great, and easy guide to understand.
just find ''Planet Types where you can Manufacture the Refined Commodities'' and it will say what planet contains all the materials for p2 production.

My advice is to produce the the most expensive T1 product available on market (and sell it to market) and additionally produce some profitable T2 or T3 from materials you buy on the market.
So for example it will look like this: 1. Set production of T1 Precious Metals and T2 Industrial Fibers on your planets 2. You buy lots of industrial fibers and oxidiziong compounds to produce Polyaramids 3. Put your industrial fibers and oxidiziong into ship and go to you PI planets 4. Export Polyaramids and Precious Metals from planet and import industrial fibers and oxidiziong compounds to planet 5. Fly home with Precious Metals and Polyaramids and sell them
I do it, because it's more profitable than producing directly one T2 or T3 material

Biocells are a good starter product you can produce on barren planets using noble metals and carbon compounds to make precious metals and biofuel which can then me used to make biocells. As far ass running time it should depend more on your own schedule. Personally I run all of my extractors for a full 24hrs but thats just what fit my schedule. Shorter times ring more yield but require you to be there to reset them. Barren planets are also good for using as processing and production bases for more advance products which is what I use mine for nowadays.
