This evening the Curatores Veritatis Alliance has retracted it's war against the FoE alliance.
Many of you will be thinking - "I didnt't realise they were even at war" and to be honest neither did we until this evening.
The CVA had been at war with Legion a corporation which has been aiding and abetting piracy in the area of Providence patrolled by the CVA.
Legion decided to take shelter from us and joined the FoE.
CVA has no particular quarrel with FoE. Indeed, some corps in the CVA have strong links with corporations in the FoE alliance.
This, combined with the war costs, means that the CVA has retracted its war with Legion (and therefore the FoE).
The CVA is an alliance of just 195 members (smaller than some individual corps). We are already have 'official' wars with the Minmatar Ushra'Khan alliance (275 members) and a +70 member mercenary corp. This is on top of our 'unofficial' actions against pirate corps, such as m0o, in Providence and low-sec Amarrian space.
We therefore have no wish to fight an official war with an alliance numbering 1,400 pilots and we certainly do not want to pay for the pleasure.
Our main focus has and always will be combating terrorist Minmatars - we do not wish to be dragged into a completely non-RP war by some pirate sympathisers who have chosen to hide behind an alliance.
I am sure some will claim this is cowardice but in my opionion it is merely common sense. We have less than 200 members and limited resources. If we maintained the FoE war we would be paying for the privelege of being targets for +1,700 pilots.
The CVA has always fought against the odds. We have always been outnumbered. But thanks to a terrific bunch of pilots and lots of PvP experience we have always punched above our weight...
However we do have to draw the line somewhere!
Just so it is clear, Legion will remain KOS to CVA if they continue to operate in the region we patrol against pirates.
We have no quarrel with any other FoE. However if FoE want to declare on CVA to protect Legion then so be it...
At least then they, and not us, will be paying for the war...

Well tbh Foyle we do not normally back down from fights... but this is ridiculous numbers wise and we have no quarrel or even RP justification to be paying for a war against the entirety of FoE.
And just another thing to take into account Foyle - your members are not showing up as at war with us on our overviews however all our members are showing up RED to you...
That is no way to fight a war...

Odd to see PIE back down from a fight. Quite unlike them.

Quit nagging on the role players, and cool off a bit, peeps. No offense, but if you haven't figured it by now, PIE (and the rest of CVA) are role players. If someone calls you a wench, and is from PIE, I think you can rest assured he was in charcarter, not out of character.
Thanks for the sensible comments Clipped.
Yes it is unlike us to back down from a fight. Its pretty much what the vast majority of us do most of the time anyway...
But as I said a) we can't afford it and b) we cannot spend all our time fighting a non-RP alliance or the Minnies would get bored...

Some facts here good Legion dude...
While the CVA was fighting Legion it was also fighting:
Ushra'Khan - 275 members The Corporation - 70 members Legion - 55 members (when the war started)
Total 'official' enemies: 400
Total CVA pilots - 195
Now tell me who was outnumbered?
Its not like we even concentrated on Legion. We have spent as much, if not more, time fighting TC and the Minmatar terrorists in the last week than we have Legion.

You actually have until around 21.30 on Saturday evening to shoot us...
Unfortunately, due to war bug while you see our pilots flagged red as enemies in your overview our pilots cannot see your pilots as hostile until they start getting shot.
