Too many people with an opinion that don't use Apple products doesn't make for an informed argument.
I'm an MBP user and a Win 7 PC user, they both have their good and bad points, Apple macfools will always go for the windows security problems and winfools will always go for the price/hype and lack of versatility.
The bottom line is you use what you do because it suits your needs and wallet, a lot of Apple users are too easily parted from their hard earned, I won't deny it but that doesn't make them bad products, for every bad user experience there's a good one that goes for both platforms, as for the iphone, I don't have one but my wife does and the interface is as simple as it can be to use and that's part of the popularity, my phone is a blackberry and the user manual is 300+ pages and that's only one language not multi, it's a brilliant phone and about as intuitive as quantum mechanics is to a chimp.
I use the win 7 machine I have for gaming and my MBP for general pc use, was it expensive? yes even though I it bought from a friend it still wasn't cheap, have I had problems with it? not one, hardware or software, OSX is a great system but I think windows 7 is as well, the odd thing is I got into OSX because my wife way back when needed a new laptop and fell in love witht he style of the 2nd gen g3 ibook, the all white ones, she got sucked in by the style thing that apple do so well.
3 months later I'm using the ibook and I've bought her a new laptop running windows because she just couldn't get away with the differences, that was around 10 years ago, the g3 ibook is still going running osx 4.11, the battery isn't going to run for more than an hour but after 10 years that's pretty good going.
That's not to say all apple products will give you the same return, after sales is a joke and legacy support even more so but I can only speak from my own experience.
Ipad is a joke as is the new air book, way to expensive and not as good as you think once the initial wow factor wears off, especially the ipad, it's the ultimate smoke and mirrors item.
I still stand by my MBP though, a great machine with a great OS just dont try gaming on it. :P
